Marie Curie Experienced Researcher
We are looking for talented and motivated Experienced Researcher to investigate the preparation and characterisation of reverse lit, flexible solar cells and modules for potential Built In PhotoVoltaic, BIPV, applications. The work involves experiments to investigate degradation in perovskite solar cells including extensive device durability testing in line with International Standard for Organisation, ISO, standards, with the aim of evaluating device lifetime and degradation mechanisms.
DescriptionThe 16 month appointment will undertake research on perovskite solar cells to improve the lifespan of the device in the perspective of future commercialization and integration in panels and modules. The candidate will be based at Dyesol U.K.’s state of the art R&D facilities in Manchester. For these cells to be marketable and to compete with their inorganic counterparts, fundamental science has to be done to understand the causes of degradation and find ways of enhancing cell and module life time and stability without sacrificing performance and scalability. The project is part of the Marie Curie Initial Training Network DyESensiTized solar cells wIth eNhanced stability (DESTINY). DESTINY is a multi-site Training & Research Program funded by the European Commission focussing on the development of dye sensitized and perovskite solar cells. This Training Network is organized by eleven European research groups from five countries, from both the academic (University of Bath, University of Oxford, Italian Institute of Technology, University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, NCSR Demokritos, Bar-Ilan University, U. Jaume I) and the private sectors (Dyesol UK, Oxford Photovoltaics Ltd, 3GSolar Photovoltaics Ltd, TiberlabS.r.l).
