Sands CEO: potential for Vegas-style strip in Europe

SINGAPORE, April 28 (Reuters) - Las Vegas Sands (LVS.N), the world's most valuable casino firm, would consider building a Las Vegas-style casino strip in Europe if the opportunity arose, CEO Sheldon Adelson said on Wednesday.

Adelson told a business lunch in Singapore the Las Vegas-strip business model, which married casino gaming with conventions and leisure, had potential and could be replicated in other parts of the world.

SINGAPORE, April 27 (Reuters) - Las Vegas Sands (LVS.N), the world's most valuable casino firm, said earnings from its U.S. operations would fall to 15-20 percent of gross profit following the opening of its $5.5 billion Singapore casino.

Chief Operating Officer Michael Leven told reporters in Singapore that 80-85 percent of earnings "will come from Asia once Singapore ramps up".

U.S. operations currently contribute to about one quarter of Las Vegas Sands' earnings in terms of EBITDAR, with Macau accounting for the balance. nach 10 Tagen ohne Internet ist nur  L V S  eine Freude.

@  Rico -   -  wie ich sehe, hast Du nochmal erhöht. Bist Du noch

in BioChrist drin ?  Ich überlege eine Umwandlung in LVS, denn die
Entwicklung von BCRX ist eigentlich doch nur negativ.  

Bin noch in BioCryst investiert.
Ich verkaufe kein Stück !
Mal sehen was die heutigen Quartalszahlen von BioCryst bringen.

wegen den geschönten Zahlen in der Vergangenheit haben wir nun den Salat. Früher gings ja einfach Drachme 20% abgewertet, die Anleger knirschen mit den Zähnen und weiter gehts. Mit dem Euro ist das jedoch nicht so einfach.
Die ganzen schönen Gewinne von teilweise Monaten hauen die mir an 3 Tagen völlig in den Keller, Dreckspack...

The company said the drug BCX4208 showed a statistically significant reduction in serum uric acid levels compared to a dummy drug in all its three dosages. The main goal of the 21-day study was to record the change in serum uric acid concentration after 21 days of treatment in patients with gout. Roughly 5 million Americans have gout, in which uric acid build-up can cause swollen joints. The drug was generally safe and well-tolerated, BioCryst said in a statement. Net loss for the first quarter was $2.6 million, or 6 cents a share, compared with $9.3 million, or 24 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue grew 83 percent to $26.1 million, helped by milestone payments from its Japanese partner Shionogi & Co Ltd . Analysts on average expected the company to post a loss of 16 cents a share, on revenue of $19.6 million, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S. Shares of the company closed at $7.03 Tuesday on Nasdaq. Riesenrad fahren ist klasse. Und es war so geiles Wetter. Das mache ich auf jeden Fall noch mal. Ich glaube im Herbst auf dem Wasen ist das Riesenrad noch größer. Aber stehen möchte ich da nicht müssen - dann bekäme ich weiche Knie. Im sitzen war es aber echt cool !!!!!

Ach so, ich habe jetzt 100k Genta. Und jetzt kommt der Angriff nach oben ;-)))

Was für ein Tag gestern.
Die Zocker greifen jetzt nach Portugal und Spanien und
die amerik. Indizes und meine Werte läßt das vollkommen kalt.
LVS (+2,47%), BCRX (+13,8%) und AIG (+6,64%) und dann noch
die Meldung, daß die amerik. Notenbank die Zinsen weiterhin
auf dem aktuellen Niveau belassen will.
Eine großartige Nachticht für die amerik. Börsen, die sich auch gleich
in einer guten Nachbörse bemerkbar gemacht hat.  

@ Rico - war schon ein toller Tag gestern und auch die Aussichten
für die US-Werte sind prima, die Weltwirtschaft ist weiter auf Erholungskurs,
was wollen wir mehr.
Doch - bei AIG und LVS fehlen noch ein paar Prozente zum Vortag.  

Eigentlich sind mir kleine Kursanstiege lieber
und wir stehen doch alle nicht unter Zeitdruck, oder?
Wir sollten uns freuen, daß wir so herausragende Werte haben.

Bist Du noch in BioCryst investiert ?  

Bewegung in BioCryst rein, dachte schon die müßte ich mit Verlust verkaufen, sind knapp an meinem SL vorbeigeschrammt

Der Komplex wird in einigen Jahren der Mittelpunkt von Singapore sein.  

ja bin weiterhin dabei bei BioChrist, war wohl drauf und dran zu schmeißen,
allerdings dann nur zu Gunsten Las Vegas Sands - diese Aktie verursacht
mir so langsam ein Kribbeln auf der Haut, ein angenehmes Kribbeln.

Ich habe ein 2. Depot bei meiner Hausbank in Austria, wo ich allerdings
nur in Europa handelbare Aktien dealen kann. Hier möchte ich eine Um-
schichtung vornehmen und möchte gern auf Deine längerfristige Erfahrung
an der Börse - als meine - zurückgreifen:
Eine Umschichtung auf LVS in € - wäre es empfehlenswert, also in
Dollar und Euro - Werte ?  

Da machst Du sicherlich nichts verkehrt.
Der Kurs von Las Vegas Sands wird in den USA gemacht und
wenn der Kurs dort steigt, dann steigt der Kurs auch in Europa.
Hinzukommt, daß ein steigender US$ den Euro Kurs zusätzlich
steigen lassen würde. Aufgrund des Verfalles des Euro gegenüber dem
US$ ist der Kurs in Europa seit Anfang des Jahres zusätzlich ca. 8% gestiegen.
Kann man Las Vegas Sands eingentlich auch in Wien handeln ?
