"Hey guys,
just wanted to share that the inclusion of BNTX in NASDAQ-100 after markets close on 12/17/21 is pretty much a sure thing. Announcement will likely be on 12/10/21 just after 8:00 PM ET.
You can find the data further down.
Since our float is relatively small when compared to similar companies, we could see a steep increase in the share price between the announcement and the actual reconstitution of NDX since all the ETFs will have to buy accordingly. The circumstances at the time that Moderna was added to the NDX are quite different from the present situation, but I think it's worth mentioning that in the week that their inclusion was announced their share price rose 48,46 % and it still is to this date their most voluminous trading week with 316,87 million shares traded from 7/13/20 to 7/17/20.
Here are the facts:

Eligible exchanges The issuer of the security’s primary U.S. listing must exclusively be listed on the Nasdaq Global Select Market or the Nasdaq Global Market.

Reconstitution reference dates
The Security Eligibility Criteria are applied using market data as of the end of October and total shares outstanding as of the end of November.
Constituent selection process A Reconstitution is conducted on an annual basis, at which time all eligible Issuers, ranked by market capitalization, are considered for Index inclusion based on the following order of criteria. •The top 75 ranked Issuers will be selected for inclusion in the Index. •Any other Issuers that were already members of the Index as of the Reconstitution reference date and are ranked within the top 100 are also selected for inclusion in the Index. •In the event that fewer than 100 issuers pass the first two criteria, the remaining positions will first be filled, in rank order, by issuers currently in the index ranked in positions 101-125 that were ranked in the top 100 at the previous Reconstitution or replacement- or spin-off-issuers added since the previous Reconstitution. In the event that fewer than 100 issuers pass the first three criteria, the remaining positions will be filled, in rank order, by any issuers ranked in the top 100 that were not already members of the Index as of the Reference Date. “

I think it's self-explanatory why BNTX didn't make the cut in 2020. This year around we are definitely in the Top 75 with a comfortable margin, maybe even Top 50 this time around.
