LandT Info bags mega Infineon order
Larsen and Toubro (LandT) Infotech on Tuesday said it has bagged a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract from a large German semiconductor manufacturer, Infineon Technologies AG (IFX). LandT Infotech is the unlisted technology arm of Rs 40,480-crore engineering and construction conglomerate, LandT. Stocks of LandT on the Bombay Stock Exchange (^BSESN : 17043.95 +191.04 ) closed at Rs 1,647.70, up 0.11%, and Rs 1,649.55, up 0.19%, on the National Stock Exchange (^NSEI : 5056.35 +49.5 ) (NSE). The firm will operate, maintain and develop SAP solutions within Infineon's enterprise landscape and provide these services out of Germany, Singapore and India. The firm, however, refused to divulge the size of the contract. In a release, LandT Infotech said it will optimise Infineon's IT operations, enhance operational efficiency and support Infineon's IT technology roadmap. Sudip Banerjee, chief executive officer, LandT Infotech, said, "LandT Infotech is strongly building its presence in Europe, Germany in particular. We will help Infineon optimise their operations to achieve their business objectives of meeting the three central needs of modern society - energy efficiency, communications and security." "Our sourcing strategy combines internal and external staffing, as well as on-site and off-shore provision of services for the best fit of Infineon," Michael Schmelmer, chief information officer of Infineon Technologies AG, commented. This contract is another testimony to LandT Infotech's SAP competence and its focus on expansion in Western Europe, said a release. Recently, Mahindra Satyam (SATYAM.BO : 120.1 -0.1 ) said it bagged an extension of its multi-million deal with General Electric (GE) for next three years. Tech Mahindra (TECHM.NS : 935.35 +8.95 ) would work on specialised areas of application development maintenance (ADM), business intelligence and engineering services. Also, Tech Mahindra bagged a deal valued at Rs 2,000 crore with Etisalat DB Telecom. The pact between Etisalat DB Telecom, a joint venture between India's Swan Telecom and UAE-based Etisalat, and Tech Mahindra is intended to be spread over a period of 10 years. Under the terms of the agreement, Etisalat and its subsidiary would outsource implementation of its end-to-end IT applications and infrastructure, including system integration and managed services, to Tech Mahindra. |
