heute Nacht postete der user silentbubbles im HC diesen Beitrag, der voll auf meiner gestern hier geschriebenen Linie liegt: So if these Guy's - Rock Tech and perhaps Avalon can ship Spodumene across 6,596 kilometres all the way from Thunder Bay district to Brandenburg Germany and still keep it cost effective as well as ' Carbon Neutral ' , then this spodumene - ie not just Ontario's but also Quebec's spodumene must be the ' Gold Standard ' of available ' low carbon and low cost Lithium upstream mineral inputs for any proposed conversion.
And so if we ( Sayona ) , only have to ship our ' nought ' or less than one third the distance , then our's must be the ' Platinum Standard ' of available Canadian spodumene.
Imagine NOT having to ship it at all to your conversion facility , or at worst only somewhere between 500 to 700 kilometres .
Because even Moblan or Whabouchi spodumene should it be produced from their ( Nemaska's ) currently existing 2,800 tonnes per day Concentrator , it would only be approximately 524.9 kilometre from Moblan to NAL , with Authier , NAL , and Tansim spodumeme processed at the North American Lithium site being only 695.2 kilometres to Becancour Quebec should that ultimate be Sayona's chosen Hydroxide site either through participation or on its own. ( and more likely to be through participation with Nemaska )
Keep in mind also that if spodumene were to theoretically travel from Thunder Bay to say Hamburg Germany , that's a total of 7,594 Nautical miles . At an average speed of say 24 knot's would be equivalent to around 13 days transit times not including transit from mine to port , mooring or docking , or loading and unloading , clearance and road or rail to conversion plant.
By comparison , Sayona and Nemaska could ship via rail or road it's equivalent spodumene to North American Lithium in 6 hours 24 minutes , and from North American Lithium to Becancour in only 7 hours 20 minutes.
So both lead times and shipping interruptions as well as significantly increased costs are ' REAL ' as well as potentially extended out and at risk in Rock Tech's cases versus Sayona's and Nemaska's. On top of that , Rock Tech's resource is currently similar to that of Iron Ridge in that it is not significant and so will have to find or acquire more lithium to in my mind justify and feed a longer term viable proposition of conversion facility LOP ( Life of Plant ) |
