The Australian Opposition's foreign affairs spokesperson, Julie Bishop, is visiting the Autonomous Region of Bougainville.

She is meeting a number of key officials and plans to meet Bougainville's President John Momis on Thursday.

Ms Bishop told Radio Australia's Pacific Beat that part of her trip will be assessing if the levels of financial aid to the region from Australia are adequate.

"I want to understand far better the challenges facing the people of Bougainville and that's why we're spending nearly three days here," she said.

"So that we can meet people here that are recipients of aid, understand whether it's having the desired impact."

Ms Bishop will meet Bougainville's President John Momis to discuss the effectiveness of Australia's aid program. [ABC]

Subjects: Visit to Papua New Guinea and Bougainville

JULIE BISHOP    It is my first visit to Bougainville but it is part of a trip to Papua New Guinea and Bougainville, and I have brought a number of my parliamentary colleagues with me. And we arrived in Buka in Bougainville this morning. We have met with the Vice President and with the Chief Administrator and a number of senior officials. We will be staying overnight this evening and then going to Arawa tomorrow, we will spend another night in Bougainville on Thursday and then return to Papua New Guinea on Friday.

HELENE HOFMAN    Did anything arise from the meetings that you had this morning?

JULIE BISHOP    They have been very significant meetings because I have been given an update about the post conflict challenges in Bougainville. One issue that keeps being raised with me is the weapons disposal programs and the challenges ahead for the autonomous government to try and get the weapons containment under control.

Your listeners will be aware that there is a proposed referendum on independence to be held as part of the Bougainville peace process sometime before 2020, between 2015 and 2020, and one of the issues that must be confronted before the referendum can be held is the weapons disposal. And that is an issue that is really exercised in the minds of those in leadership positions here.

HELENE HOFMAN    And you’re due to meet with President Momis tomorrow, is that something you’ll bring up with him or do you have other issues that are on the agenda?

JULIE BISHOP    I will be meeting with President Momis in the morning. As well as the issue of weapons disposal we will be talking about peace and reconciliation post conflict. I also want to discuss the effectiveness of Australia’s aid program into PNG and Bougainville. I propose discussing with him some of the challenges that Bougainville faces in terms of its budget and the revenues that Bougainville is able to derive, and also some opportunities for opening the Panguna mine again and other mining and resource projects that are being considered here. And we will also talk about other ways to expand the economy and ways that Australia can assist through AusAID and other means.

HELENE HOFMAN    President Momis has repeatedly said he would like to see more Australian aid for Bougainville, what is your stance on that?

JULIE BISHOP    Well that is one of the reasons that I have come here in my capacity as Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, I want to understand far better the challenges facing the people of Bougainville. And that is why we are spending two and a half, nearly three days here so that we can meet people who are recipients of aid, understand whether it is having the desired impact.

We have met with the Catholic Bishop today, we are now meeting with one of the Sisters, Sister Lorraine’s organisation out here in Chabai, and trying to understand from them what more is needed in terms of support for health, education, as well as infrastructure.

HELENE HOFMAN    Have you had to field any questions about why the Foreign Affairs Minister Bob Carr hasn’t yet visited the region?

JULIE BISHOP    I have certainly had to field questions in Port Moresby about Senator Carr’s recent comments concerning sanctions on PNG should an election not be held and I have been reassured on many occasions by every level of government in PNG that the national elections will go ahead as constitutionally required.

And so it is unfortunate that Senator Carr made those comments but he has admitted that they were wrong and I would encourage him to visit PNG and Bougainville as soon as he is able.

There is no substitute for actually spending time here. In the last eight months I have spent a week in PNG, I have spent time on the Solomon Islands and now another week in Papua New Guinea and Bougainville.

And so I believe that this region should be Australia’s highest foreign policy priority and that is why I am spending as much time as I am able to do making contact, engaging with people, listening to them and talking about issues of concern.

Und in 6 Monaten wird es wohl kaum anders aussehen, "but the hope will never die..."

Aber wir haben ja jede Menge Zeit und lassen uns gerne mal positiv überraschen.

Unter diesen Umständen wird Herr Sturm seine restlichen ca. 500.000 Stücke zu
0,81 AUD oder sogar darunter auch noch bekommen....

Auch ich werde meinen Erwartungshorizont um einige Jahre erweitern und ggfs. bei günstigen Kursen zuschlagen.

aja, klar, weil Investoren die 500.000 Aktien eines solchen Werts kaufen dumm sind und nicht wissen was sie tun...
bis wohin fallen sie denn dann, ich würde gern entsprechende Orders aufgeben...
und offizielle politische Gespräche zur Eröffnung sind ja völlig unerheblich.

Habe heute schon 20000 in Frankfurt eingesammelt.
Meine Limitorders in AU lasse ich aber weiter sehr tief. Mein weiß ja nie, wie weit ein kurzer Ausverkauf geht! ;-)

Ich habe mich wohl etwas mißverständlich ausgedrückt.

Ich bin erst seit ca 2 Jahren in BOC investiert, selbstverständlich mit der Erwartung von signifikanten Kursanstiegen. Mein Anlagehorizont war ursprünglich schon auf Jahre angelegt.

Trotz der sich stetig verbessernden politischen Großwetterlage hat sich der Kurs mit Ausnahme einiger Zuckungen nicht wesentlich verändert.  (Einstandskurse von € 0,70/0,90/1,40/ 0,55/0,60 = Durchschnittskurs von € 0,694).

Durch die euphorische Proklamation jedweder kleinsten (positiven)politischen Veränderung wurden viele kurzfristige Anleger(Zocker) in diese Aktie gelockt.
Diese sind dann ebenso schnell verschwunden wie sie gekommen sind, so daß der Kurs nicht wirklich vorangekommen ist.

In diesem Zusammenhang halte ich es für bedenklich, hier öffentlich zu proklamieren, 1 Mio Stücke kaufen zu wollen und auf die (eigenen) riesigen Kauforders hinzuweisen.
Dadurch werden wieder die Kurzfristanleger angezogen, die dann ebenso schnell wieder verschwinden.
Böse Zungen könnten nun behaupten, es handele sich hierbei um Marktmanipulation.
Wohlwollende stellen fest, daß dadurch BCL in den Fokus der Anlegeröffentlichkeit gerückt wird.


Nichts für ungut Herr Sturm, ich weiß Ihre unermüdliche Arbeit für die ESBC und die Öffentlichkeit zu schätzen und zu nutzen. Aber mir ist ein langsamer, der politischen Situation entsprechender nachhaltiger Kursanstieg lieber, als dieses wilde Hin- und Hergezucke.
Wenn dann bei wirklich entscheidenden Weichenstellungen der Kurs "explodiert", dann soll es mir recht sein und die Zocker hier sich nach Belieben tummeln.

In diesem Zusammenhang erweitere ich meinen Erwartungs- und Anlagehorizont um mehrere Jahre und kaufe bei günstiger Gelegenheit nach.  

es gab eine ähnlich Situation mit ca. 250.000 stck die dann ein paar tage später bedient wurden.
vielleicht werden shorties mit Aktien ausgestattet...  

bei welchem Kurs kaufst du denn dann wieder ein?

Ich denke, dass sich die Käufer der letzten Tage vor die große Säule setzten werden mit 30000-100000 Stück.
Mal sehen ob das dann verkauft wird, oder ob sich die Säule von links nach rechts bewegt!?  

Das die Wahlen verschoben wurden, reißt bisher keinen vom Hocker.
Die meisten scheinen mittlerweile abgehärtet zu sein und die Aktie wirklich langfristig zu sehen!? Ich habe mit Verkäufen gerechnet und das Gegenteil setzt ein!?
Verstehe wer will, nur schade das meine Limitorders nicht ausgeführt werden...

Welches Vögelchen setzt sich mit 500k dahin .Kann nur jemand sein, der sicher ist dass er die Stücke nicht bekommt...:-)einfach nur zum Schmunzeln.

sicher sein kann er sich da nicht. die stücke (ich glaub es waren 200.000) zu 1,20 AUD wurden auch nach ein paar tagen bedient.
vielleicht ist er sich auch sehr sicher bedient zu werden...
nekro schrieb mal was zu einer Millionenorder zu 1 AUD die der Makler in AU besorgen soll - hast du da weitere infos, nekro?
aber ich geb dir recht, wer sich wirklich günstig mit 500k eindecken will macht das nicht so.
ist und bleibt alles sehr spannend mit boc und bald wissen wir mehr  

... wer wirklich stücke möchte, kauft sie behutsam aus dem ask oder stellt sich mit im verhältnis zum tagesvolumen realistischen volumen ins bid ... sorry to say, vielleicht ist er eben auch nur "saudoof" .... das kann ich mir aber nicht vorstellen .... selbst jungs die in einem short-squeeze stecken, gehen da intelligenter vor ....vielleicht denkt er auch alle anderen sind es (saudoof), haha und er möchte einfach nur großes kaufinteresse "suggerieren", kann sein, muss aber nicht ... zumindest ist sowas leider nur bei einem pennystock wie boc möglich ...
