Zitat eines "menschlichen" Postings von einem US Blog, gefällt mir, und mir gehts gerade sehr ähnlich:
"I write this as therapy, to inoculate my trading behavior against the emotion of FEAR. One is supposed to make rational, not emotional decisions. Now a premise, and this can be questioned: The market is in the early stages of a massive decline. ("bear" with me). But in the next few days, it may rise by another 7%. The audience here is sophisticated enough to know that all such predictions of direction, magnitude and timing are uncertain. Therefore a) the 7% rise may be 1% or 10%, b) the top may be today, tomorrow or two weeks from today (or never) c) the market may fall, today, soon, in two weeks or never. No mortal can see the future, so in the words of Lenin, "Что делать? Chto delat'?" - What is to be done?
Too many times, with tight stops, I have been whipsawed in such a way as to take losses, small ones, but again and again - it's dissipative. So I have learned to loosen up. Too many times "day" trades have turned against me while week-long swing trades have paid off. So I have learned to think in days, or weeks, not minutes or hours. It suits who I am.
Now I have a position which is short, under water, and apparently going more so. If I exit and a big drop occurs, I am a double loser. 1) Realized losses now, 2) Lost opportunity then. If I hold it and the market goes up by 10%, with leverage, I am down more than that. But I can stand it if I know that in time prices will return to (ES) 1070 and below. They will, won't they?
I have dry powder, so I can add to my positions at 1150, 1170.
I can do these things, avoid a whipsaw, and come out ahead. But the nightmare that haunts is ES 1300, full recovery, tech craze, double digit growth etc. Then I have simply held a losing hand, well past its due. My shorts will be toxic waste, bobbing on a mental Gulf of Mexico. It can't happen can it? No deep sea out-of-control gushers of stock price appreciation? Not possible. Or am I just brainwashed in the bearish echo chamber?
What would an emotionless robot do?" ----------- "This Market is UFB." --- F: Suchen Sie immer noch nach neuen Setups? A: Eigentlich andauernd, die beste Idee ist immer die nächste. |
