Financing the "weird stuff"

Commerce Resources TSXV:CCE director Chris Grove explained that a somewhat traditional scenario has Asian interests backing a project around the pre-feasibility stage with a joint venture or loan guarantee. "What we"re seeing with this conflict minerals legislation is interest coming from manufacturers who have a listing on a U.S. exchange, and I"m talking about companies that are household names."

The Dodd–Frank Act "holds 6,000 companies accountable as to where they procure their three Ts [tantalum, tungsten and tin], and whether they buy these from people who have committed the worst and longest-running record of human rights abuses on the planet in the last 20 years."

That gives Commerce a strong jurisdictional advantage over countries like the Democratic Republic of Congo. In British Columbia the company has taken its Upper Fir tantalum-niobium deposit to a preliminary economic assessment. In Quebec Commerce advances its Ashram rare earth deposit towards pre-feasibility.

Attending a panel discussion were representatives from the five explorers, each with "its own unique strength or niche," said moderator Derek Hamill, head of research for Zimtu Capital TSXV:ZC. Each company offered a different perspective on financing.

French chemicals group Rhodia does not see stockpiling of rare earths by Europe as a pertinent response to Chinese export curbs, favouring efforts to diversify supply through mining... a senior executive said.

Canada wants 20% of global rare earth market by 2018

Canadian exploration companies are targeting scores of rare earth projects around the world and with help from the federal government are making a go at loosening the grip China has had on the industry for the past decade or more.

Canada.com reports Canada's parliament recently launched a new study of the country's REE industry while a new industry group called Canadian Rare Earth Elements Network, established in cooperation with Natural Resources Canada, is working to have government to set aside funding for research and development in the 2014 federal budget:

"Canada is poised to capitalize on extracting rare earth elements, say briefing notes prepared for Natural Resources Minister Joe Oliver as part of last summer’s cabinet shuffle.

Why it would make sense for Rhodia to built a REE provessor plant in Canada:

“Rare earth elements (REE) have been categorized by the government as being critical to Canada’s economy,” say the briefing notes, titled “Secret” and obtained by Postmedia News under access to information legislation."

Canadian industry want to secure 20% of global supply by 2018. At the moment China produces some 90% of the world's rare earths – used in a variety of industries including green technology, defence systems and consumer electronics – and imposes export quotas.

It would make sense if Rhodia would finance a REE processor plant in Canada near the REE Mines.  

sieht hier in letzter Zeit sehr sehr gut aus. Es hält sich auf dem gleichen Niveau, die 0,9 wurden nur ganz kurz mal erreicht. Dann sollte es auch angesichts anhaltend positiver News nun aber endlich mal nach oben gehen.

US firms unprepared for upcoming conflict minerals rule enforcement

Some data in the survey backs up the arguments of human rights groups that support the rule and say it is needed.

For instance, the extensive amount of compliance and the business risks from the SEC's rule have led more companies to try and source their minerals elsewhere, the survey said.

Forty-five per cent of the respondents told PWC they plan to be conflict-free so their revenue does not take a hit.

am WE haben die Liberalen in Quebeck gewonnen. Damit ist nun nach 2012 der Plan wieder auf einem guten Weg:

Sieht so aus das der Boden so bei 0,14 - 0,15 CAD gefunden wurde, werde mir noch ein paar Stück kaufen ist meiner Meinung nach nur die Frage der Zeit wann wir die 0,20 CAD knacken.

Hab mir in Frankfurt mit Limit nochmal schnell 3000 geholt, war gerade am traden und da hab ich die kleine Posi auch gleich mitgenommen ... Limit 0,10 in Frankfurt hat mich ohnehin gewundert, dass ich die bekommen hab.  

1 $ is the Price - sagt Kanada ;-) die Herren gehen von einem Mindest $ aus und wollen darunter NICHTS aber auch gar NICHTS verschenken, man geht jetzt auf den Faktor Zeit zu und meint, man hätte die notwendige Geduld und auch die notwendigen Partner die ständig mit PP`s zuliefern, so lang, bis ein JV sinnvoll aussieht, weil dzt. sind aus Asien 0,55 $ geboten für ein big JV ... fragt mal leise nach bei den Jungs !

PS: ich beantworte auch keine Fragen via BM oder wenn jetzt wieder wer kommt und meint er weiß es besser als ich, ja dann gerne - ich enthalte mich meinen weiteren Aussagen, ich wollt nur kurz mitteilen, was ich so "höre" - "lese" ...  

Hier gibt`s sogar einen Experten, der geht von 2 CAD plus aus!
Den finde ich besser!

Wenn das eintritt, bin ich reicher, als wenn deine Prognose eintrifft.
Also bekommt er von mir ein "Fleißbienchen".

dass dieser Kurs von 1$, der von der Aktie hier in den Ring geworfen wurde, multipiziert mit der Aktienanzahl quasi das finanzielle Kommitment bedeutet, welches ein potentieller Investor zu diesem Zeitpnkt eingehen sollte bzw. welches CCE gerne hätte. Also Geld für die Bankable Feasibility, etc. Ich habe Chris bisher so verstanden, dass es zum Beispiel eine "Ashram Mining Company" geben könnte, ein Joint Venture. Das das aber keinen Einfluß auf die Anzahl der Aktien hat und es auch keinen Split geben wird. Was CCE denen dafür anbieten muss, steht auf einem anderen Blatt, und dazu hat die Akie nix gesagt.
