Prior to selling her company to Burpee Gardens, she was one of the largest shippers in the Southeast region for FedEx. Her company became the leader of plants in designer planters & vases, selling to and fulfilling for, all the major Internet retailers, including but not limited to 1-800 Flowers, FTD, Pro Flowers, Hallmark, and Garden.com. Her model set the standard for other retail fulfillment sites across the country.
Prior to the existence of the now commonplace term Home Fashions, it was Gail’s previous expertise in fashion apparel, that set the stage for her to design fashion hard goods for many celebrity notables, e.g.: Martha Stewart, Katie Brown, Jaclyn Smith and Christopher Lowell in the tabletop, home & office décor, and garden industries. These Private Brand designs, as well as those of her own company, were featured in many trade publications as well as television shows, such as Oprah, CBS & NBC Home Show ‘winners’, etc.
Ms. Levy also served as President of GMJ Designs, CEO of Style Trend Studios and Potter’s Stone, President of Petra Stone, Zoe, Plants Express under Burpee Gardens, and earlier, was with Burdines, Federated Department Stores, Jordan Marsh and Allied Stores.
Ms. Levy served on the boards of The Boca Pops, Palm Beach Film and Television Commission, JCC. Gail currently serves on the board of the America the Beautiful Foundation in Washington, DC. She was appointed by the White House to the Education and Remembrance Committee Council, National Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC and served on the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and Concerned Parents for Aids.
Ms. Levy was the Founder of the White House Millennium Green Committee and launched the campaign to promote the greening of America. She led the White House initiative shepherded by First Lady Hillary Clinton, and was honored at a formal ceremony, December 1999, in Washington, DC.
