M. I will elaborate on that response for you: Historical production during Soviet times was 500 tpa REO. This production came from 4 plants. Plant 1 was used for the cracking and dissolution of RE. Furthermore all radioactivity was removed at this stage using roasting technology. This plant was demolished due to the roasting technology that was used at the time. This technology was extremely harmful to the environment as it released radioactivity into the air. Plant 2 was used for the extraction of Yttrium and Mixed Light, Middle and Heavy Rare Earths Plant 3 was used for separation of Heavy and Light Rare Earths. To reach our planned production of 1500 tpa REO we would have to add two (2) more modules of 500 tpa containing all three plants. The mill that is on site was used for historic production levels. To reach scaled up output, we would have to build a new mill as well. That being said, if we can acquire the historic mill at a reasonable cost, then Stans will proceed with resuming production at the historical levels. The time table for this is H2 2013. If we do not acquire the historic mill, we will proceed with plans to build a new one (which we would do anyways). Time table for this is H2 2014. Currently no Plant 1 exists. It needs to be redesigned incorporating new technology from VNIIHT. Plant 2 needs to be reassembled. Plant 3 needs to be refurbished. Plant 3 can be refurbished in a matter of months and thus could be ready to processed out sourced concentrates. Stans’ Management is examining opportunities to source this concentrate but has yet to make any binding deals. To process our own concentrates we need to have: a Mill, Plant 1, Plant 2, and Plant 3. We are actively making progress on all fronts and are weighing our options carefully. Once any developments arise we will be publicizing them accordingly. All the best, David |
