Aixtron- und die Banken stufen fröhlich auf kaufen

concerning the article re - Samsung.

Correct me if I am wrong please. Does Samsung not want to convert one "old" LCD factory to OLED (GEN 8 or 8.5) and build a brandnew one for size GEN 10.5.  

For some reason the timelines communicated by Felix (Aixtron) and the one mentioned in the article re Samsung are a mismatch in my opinion.

Felix talks about an order for a productionsize chamber to demonstrate scaling capabilities (pre-production tool), while the article talks about production start in March 2020.

Could the article miss the pre-production step or are we talking about 2 different projects altogether? In my opinion the later is the case.

Aber hat sich Apple nicht gerade die Power Management Chip Plantage von Dialog einverleibt samt der  kompletten Farmworker Mannschaft?

Oder Samsung - die QD Plantage Novaled gekauft.

Ich halte die Übernahme-Gerüchte auch für Quark, aber für die Newcomer am Stammtisch nähren sie doch die Hoffnung auf eine Runde Freibier.

darüber nachdenken ob es nicht auch sinnvoll sein kann die ein oder andere Innovation  dazu benutzen mit einen Produzenten  der Produkte ein Joint Venture einzugehen und auf die Dauer vom reinen Anlagenproduzenten in die Produktion einzusteigen. Dazu könnte man auch die übermäßig en Cash Bestände zu reduzieren.

Dabei könnte man auch mal den welschlechtesten Slogan ändern. Anlagenbau mit liebe zum Detail. eieieieei

 

Ich hätte zumindest auf die Gegenrektion zu den US-Zöllen aus China gewartet ... aber die Aktie hat sich gestern bei einem Dax von -3 % sehr gut behauptet ...  

werden in Anbetracht der aktuellen Nachrichtenlage  die Aussichten für Aixtron auf einen Deal mit Samsung  m.E. leider immer geringer  :-(
Wer ist immer noch anderer Meinung und kann mir dies begründen?  

as some might know, almost all OLED display manufacturers are buying their materials from Universal Display Corp. They just announced their customer ranking and it shows why Samsung needs to start acting on OLED in a reverse way.

The biggest customer in 2018 was Samsung, followed by LG and BOE. In 2019 the ranking has changed significantly. Samsung has dropped to No. 3 as it does not use a lot of material for OLED TV production.

The article says shipment of Canon Tokki tool in March 2020, not production in March 2020.  If Aixtron gets the order if Fall 2019, then shipment would probably in March too. This is just guessing.

On the TV plan of Samsung, I believe the Korean press indicate the OLED pilot line production would be a Gen 8 by converting the Gen 8 LCD line of Samsung which would stop operating this month.  The Gen 10.5 line, if Samsung decides, would be a phase-II like plan when true mass production starts.  I can vision that Samsung tests the market with QD OLED TV using the Gen 8 panels.  If it is a success, Samsung goes Gen 10.5 production eventually.

The article also says Canon Tokki is altering the number of chambers based on Samsung request.  Perhaps an OVPD chamber of one or two is in the mix?  We do not know what Samsung is planning.  I even think that Samsung has two tracks of TV development, one is based on QD-OLED that Canon Tokki takes while the other is RGB OLED TV where Aixtron, AMAT and Kateeva take.

Please be aware I am speculating a lot here and don't just take my words.

If you take that runoff apart by technology you have:
Canon Toki:      VTE proven and used by Samsung (FMM)
AMAT:               vertical VTE - new (FMM problem on lager solved ???)
Kateeva:            inkjet printing (solution based - for QD in my opinion)
Aixtron:             Organic Vapor Jet Deposition
UDC:                Organic Vapor Jet Printing (solution less - No FMM)

The latter is not ready yet in my opinion. UDC is still developing its inhouse demonstration unit.

I had the same thought as you. Maybe the Gen 8 factory is the one in which the technology run-off will be happening - Pre-production. That would fit the steps that Felix has outlined several times. The NDA would then be the means of keeping the technology run-off a secret.

Aixtron macht OVPD (organic vapor phase deposition)  

I still believe Samsung is not only looking for an investment in QD-OLED. It is still strange for me to only go for a gen 8 line first, while the size of at least 60 inch is the most important one for the future.

As CWL1 stated already, they want to check the potential of QD-OLED and maybe also the potential of MicroLED in 1-2 years?
MicroLED should probably work for 4k 65" in 1-2 years for a "reasonable" price, but won't probably work for 4k 55".
Everything of course hypothetically.

QD OLED is a compromise.  Lots of technical challenges and not proven.  If Kateeva is only for QD deposition, then it is not a competitor of Aixtron.  The two would complement each other, with Kateeva's red and green converting QD color filters on top of Aixtron's blue emitter layer.

Kateeva would become a competitor of Aixtron only if Kateeva inkjet prints the RGB pixels while OVPD employs FMM to deposit RGB pixels. Therefore, I was intrigued by Aixtron for the first time put Kateeva as a competitor in its July 2019 master presentation. Is RGB OLED TV back in the game at Samsung?  RGB OLED TV would have much better performance than QD OLED TV which needs QD color filters and polairizer to eliminate the leaking blue light.  Both increase cost and reduces brightness and color purity, etc.

Samsung tried RGB OLED TV a few years ago and failed due to mainly the FMM and substrate deflection.  OVPD does not have such inherent limitations, then why can't Samsung restart its RGB OLED TV using OVPD ?  Taking the path of unproven QD OLED does not make sense to me but that is what the Korean press says.   Unless Samsung is also developing OVPD for its cell phone panels which certainly employs FMM.  

Has good information on QD OLED production timing and difficulties by Korean press.  Korean to English machine translation of dates and month and year may be inaccurate so do your own best judgement.  

Aixtron hat mithilfe von Kohlenstoff-Nanostrukturen in der Forschung neuer Materialien eine jahrelange Aufbauarbeit geleistet, welche eines Tages u.a. Silizium in Computerchips ablösen könnte, also auf die Graphentechnologie abzielt. Inwieweit ist die Graphen-Technologie von Aixtron eurer Meinung nach im Kurs schon eingepreist?

Ich glaube, dass nicht mal mikroLED im kurs  gehandelt wird...vielleicht nicht ganz zurecht.
An der Tagesordnung sind VCSEL, wide band gap Elektr., OLED.

Wenn Windenergie- und Photovoltaik-Anlagen wegen Flaute oder Schwachwind und zu wenig Sonne insgesamt keine oder nur geringe Mengen elektrische Energie produzieren braucht es aber Speichertechnologien, die auch bei Windstille Strom liefern oder wenn keine Sonne scheint.

Die Preise für Lithium-Ionen-Akkus werden durch die E-Auto-Welle sinken, was wiederum für die Speicherbranche den Durchbruch bedeuten wird.

Ohne Speicher keine erfolgreiche Energiewende...

Graphen selbst ist auf dem Vormarsch, die Graphen-Forschung erzielte zuletzt immense Fortschritte und die Herstellung von Graphenflocken hat überraschend schnell Fahrt aufgenommen. Aixtron setzt auf Graphen!  

Der Aktie Hält sich sehr, sehr stark. Die Aussage von Aixtron - China wolle eigene Lieferketten aufbauen - scheint den Kurs sehr zu stützen ... schade eigentlich ... ich hoffe auf tiefere Kurse ...  

dann wird der Kurs explodieren!!!!!!! Die Aktie hat sich wirklich sehr, sehr, sehr stark gehalten. Um die 9,70 gibt es eine starke Unterstützung wo die Aktie in diesem Bereich mehrmals stark nach oben gedreht hat. Ich hoffe das sich die ,,Twitter Nachrichten'' in Grenzen halten. Keine Nachrichten sind momentan gute Nachrichten und sollten den Kurs weiter stützen.  

Wieso hoffst du jetzt auf tiefere Kurse? Das verstehe ich nun so gar nicht.....

Du hattest doch erst kürzlich die Möglichkeit für deutlich unter EUR 8,xx einzusteigen. Vertraust du dem Unternehmen nicht? Und, by the way, du hast doch deinen Gewinn bereits eingestrichen.

Ich denke, es wird eher Zeit für DEUTLICH höhere Notierungen. Denn es soll noch Investierte geben, welche zu wesentlich höheren Kursen als die aktuellen ca. EUR 10,xx gekauft haben. Die wollen wir doch, der Fairness halber, auch nicht vergessen, oder?

Und schlussendlich hast du doch immer noch die Chance am Wert zu partizipieren. Eine größere Tranche habe ich vor langer Zeit auch für EUR 10,70 gekauft. Na und! Ich bin hier long investiert, da interessieren mich Schwankungen im 3 - 5,xx EUR Bereich überhaupt nicht. Also jetzt zusteigen und weiter mitfahren....

Aixtron leistet gute Arbeit. Sonst würde sich die Aktie bei dem extrem schlechten Gesamtmarkt nicht so gut halten. Man muss aber den Gesamtmarkt im Blick halten. Der Dow Jones befindet sich gerade in einer wichtigen Phase. Sollten die 26.000 Punkte auf Tagesschlußbasis unterboten werden, droht vom Gesamtmarkt evtl. weiteres Ungemach.
Mir ist aber auch aufgefallen, dass sich bei den letzten Gegenmaßnahmen aus China zu den US Zöllen ein vorläufiges Tief ( Gesamtmarkt ) gebildet hat. Also vielleicht heute ?  

Aix hat sogar an solch ein roten Tag mal kurz ins Plus gedreht..  

nachbörslich kommt der Quartalzahl.  

Die LV kaufen seit Tagen zurück, zwar nicht viel, aber kann man zurzeit als Vorteil ansehen. Und das hilft dem Kurs meiner Meinung nach diese Tage noch gut auszuhalten...  

. . . kann man die Situationen für Aixtron zur Zeit nicht gerade  als rosig sehen.  Nach meinem Verständnis sind da zu viele  Unternehmen und Namen mit im Rennen um das goldene Kalb.
Nur die Hoffnung lässt uns leben!!
