Momis, Semoso at loggerheads
By GORETHY KENNETH
BOUGAINVILLE’S second Autonomous Government led by President John Momis is benefiting from the gap bridging program that former ABG president James Tanis undertook during his reign. This is from Bougainville Affairs Minister Fidelis Semoso who advised that Mr Tanis in a big way had made it possible or contributed to the “up-being” of Bougainville by bridging the gaps in the National Government, with international communities, the business sector and other stake holders, including other areas of Papua New Guinea. This was one achievement that the Government that came in after Mr Kabui (late president) made for a breakthrough for Bougainville and be maintained to bring Bougainville forward. Mr Semoso made these remarks when responding to allegations from Mr Momis that he stalled the special joint supervisory body meeting in Port Moresby last month. This JSB, scheduled for yesterday, has been cancelled for an indefinite period as advised by leaders yesterday. But while this is happening, Bougainville leaders are clashing with each other on several issues affecting the region, even before the 100 days of the new/second ABG reaches its mature date on September 23. First, Minister Semoso and President Momis have recently argued about the cancellation of the JSB in Port Moresby and other issues at hand and this issue is now ongoing. |
