* Car navigation is expected to be a $5.5MM market by 2002 and there are 12 different automotive products that use
LHSP tech.
* Internet translation is supported with 61 different languages


Stones quarterly earnings estimates are as follows:
Q1 - .14
Q2 - .20
Q3 - .29
Q4 - .43

These estimates include goodwill.

That's a pretty nice ramp-up of quarterly earnings.

BURLINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Der amerikanische Softwarehersteller Lernout &
Hauspie LHSP.NAS hat seinen Reingewinn im ersten Quart al 2000 gegenüber
dem Vorjahreszeitraum von 11,06 Mio. auf 16,45 Mio. USD gesteigert. Dies
teilte das Unternehmen in der Nacht zum Mittwoch in Burlington
(US-Bundesstaat Massachussetts) mit. Der Umsatz kletterte um 57% auf 110,7
Mio. USD.

Die Umsatzsteigerung sei vor allem auf die starke Nachfrage bei den Telefonie-
und Spracherkennungsprodukten zurückzuführen, hieß es. Aber auch das
Internet-Geschäft mit seinem Schwerpunkt auf Übersetzungssoftware habe
kräftig zugelegt./he/xs

As far as usage of the Internet is concerned, by the end of 2004, in the Asia Pacific
 region - which excludes Japan - there will be 95.2 million Internet users. This year,
 there will be 150 million PC users and 450 mobile users worldwide. By 2004, there
 will be a total of one billion mobile users. Six hundred million will access the Internet
 using their mobile appliances that year.
