Bugs are big business Billions are spent annually in the war on pests
From the dawn of civilization we have been at war with the insect population. Throughout history we have experienced plagues and infestations that have caused disease, death and destroyed food crops. Pest control was often not very effective, in fact prior to the Korean War more people had died as a result of pestilence than died as a result of wars.
The Romans were among the first to use chemical control. They used sulphur to destroy insect pests on their crops. Today we regard chemical protection as the norm. Chemical treatments while effective, also pose serious problems such as causing illness to humans, livestock and damaging the environment.
Agriculture is the largest end-user sector for insect control, followed by commercial, industrial, home & garden and government applications. The U.S. market for agricultural insecticides is estimated to exceed $32 billion. Globally the market is equally impressive.
In 1997 the EPA began enforcing a new policy of re-registering all insecticide products previously approved in the U.S. Along with the re-registration, the EPA announced that it will enforce higher registration standards. According to EPA policy, companies whose pesticide products contain toxic ingredients must drop registrations that would not meet the new criteria.
"Today eight base chemicals, including common names such as Dursban and Diazion have been dropped from the market."
This presents a major opportunity for an emerging public company and its commercially ready EPA approved non-toxic product line. Ein kostenloses Anlegermagazin, wie es bei uns auch zahlreiche gibt, nur daß in Deutschland niemand angeben muß, ob er dafür Kohle bekommt oder nicht! Thats the difference kicky!
Diatect International OTC: BB: DTCT is an insect control and natural resource company located in Heber City, Utah (website: www.diatect.com). The Company’s EPA non-toxic insect control products safely eliminate harmful insects in a cost effective manner.
The Non-Toxic Technology The Company’s products are made from ingredients officially graded as less toxic than either table salt or aspirin; they include Pyrethrums, Diatomaceous Earth (DE), and Piperonyl Butoxide (PBO). With the combination of these active ingredients DTCT’s insecticide products offer a quick knockdown to kill insects in only minutes, while offering long-term protection against pest resurgence or re-infestation.
When properly used, DTCT’s products are effective against a wide variety of insect pests in many different applications.
Results labels includes: Fire Ant insect control, Pet Powder, Indoor, Tomato and Garden, Rose and Floral, and Ant & Insect. Diatect III insect control is for use against fire ants, cockroaches, scorpions, and most other insects. It is formulated specifically for commercial areas and high traffic areas used by people. Diatect V Insect control is for users requiring organic certification. It controls all major pest problems without synthetic ingredients and is State certified for organic use in 30 states. Diatect Multi-Purpose insect control is for use in the agriculture market, edible growing crops, animal quarters, livestock, grain storage, greenhouses and horticulture. EPA Approved Labels
DTCT has eleven retail products fully registered from the EPA granting federal clearance to manufacture, market, and sell specified insect control products.
Manufacturing
DTCT’s manufacturing facility blends and tests the products to assure compliance with EPA approved label requirements. The finished products are packaged, labeled, palletized, shrink-wrapped, warehoused or loaded directly onto truck trailers for shipment.
The Market and the Focus The largest and most important markets for DTCT are the multi- billion dollar industrial, agricultural and home and garden markets. While DTCT is positioning itself to pursue potential markets regardless of size or annual demand, the Company’s initial focus will be on the $4.6 billion fire ant market and the $11 billion organic farming market.
The Fire Ant Market
Fire ants were accidentally introduced into Mobile, Alabama on a cargo ship from South America in the 1930’s. They now infest more than 260 million acres and continue to expand. Each state inhabited by the fire ant suffers nearly $1 billion in annual negative impact through the loss of farm animals, pets, crop damage, wildlife preserves, home and lawn damage, medical suffering and expenses, including an occasional death to sting-intolerant humans. DTCT has recently launched an aggressive television advertising campaign featuring their Results label.
The Organic Market Organic farming product sales have grown by a double digit percentage each year since 1990. Today it is a growing $11 billion industry. DTCT’s Diatect V has been listed by the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) for insect control use in organic food production. Diatect V controls all major pest problems without synthetic ingredients and is State certified for organic use in most states.
"The Florida Department of Environmental Protection, which covers over 600,000 acres with a budget in excess of $70 million recently approved the use of DTCT’s Results Fire Ant and Diatect II & III products in state parklands."
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection, which covers over 600,000 acres with a budget in excess of $70 million recently approved the use of DTCT’s Results Fire Ant and Diatect II & III products in state parklands. Additionally the U.S. Department of Defense and the Government Services Administration have both approved the use of DTCT’s insect control products. Naturally this opens the opportunity for sales at approximately 4,800 military bases let alone other Federal and local government agencies.
Diatect’s management team, led by Jay W. Downs, CEO, is clearly focused on capitalizing on the market opportunity at hand in this multi-billion dollar industry. The quality of the management, shifts in the regulatory landscape and the effectiveness of the non-toxic products should propel the company to among the best in the bug killing business.
DTCT’s sales should experience enormous growth in the coming months and years. Strong sales should produce strong profits, which should translate into strong valuations for the common stock.
Could your portfolio lose some bugs? DTCT may be the right call! www.diatect.com
