AüGRID Pursues Opportunities for DHS Contract
June 29th, 2004 Houston, Texas, AüGRID Corporation (OTCBB: AGRD) announced today that it has engage an strategic alliance with EmInSys, Inc. to further the development and marketing of AüGRID’s Codestar program, a state-of-the-art Airport Security System and Emergency Notification Software.
Under this agreement, AüGRID Corporation and EmInSys, Inc. will pursue funding from the Department of Homeland Security’s FY2004 $9.1-billion budget for Emergency Preparedness. The focus of the joint venture is to utilize both AüGRID’s and EmInSys’ technologies to create an Emergency Notification System, as recommended recently by the 911 consul, to secure a portion of the $180-million earmarked for Emergency Management Performance Grants (http://www.dhs.gov). These particular grants call for “ultimately reducing the need for disaster assistance” by more effectively communicating emergency situations to the correct agencies in real time.
“This initiative is one of many being pursued in AüGRID’s proactive campaign to secure multiple revenue streams. After reviewing EmInSys’s business plan and background, we are confident that this relationship will yield DHS support in a relatively short period of time,” stated M.J. Mr. Lee Caplin is Founder and Director of Security4 Communications, Inc., a software development company that designs encrypted telephone devices, as well as Co-Founder and Director of Emergency Information Systems, a company that has developed an interactive, secure messaging system for various U.S. government agencies. Mr. Caplin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Duke University, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia Law School.
Mr. Dan Sokol is a Silicon Valley engineer and one of the original club members of the Homebrew Computer Club. Founded in 1975, the Homebrew Computer Club is accredited for spinning off the multi-billion dollar personal computer industry as we know it today. The list of Club members included Bob Marsh, Adam Osborne, Steve Jobs and Steven Wozniak. Mr. Sokol’s engineering background includes embedded systems design (hardware and software), video postproduction, and semi-conductor test engineering. He holds patents on Interactive Storytelling and Design, and a patent on Electronic Commercial Transactions with minors.
Mr. Kirk Knight has 25 years’ experience in high technology marketing, including 20 years as a consultant to such clients as Apple Computer, Sun Microsystems, Intel, Motorola, NeXT, Oracle, Borland, Sprint and Sony Computer, as well as many start-ups including Go Computer, Mips and Actel. Mr. Knight was Marketing Communications Manager for Four-Phase Systems, later Motorola Computer Systems, a $300-million vertically integrated maker of distributed data processing systems for large enterprises. He is currently Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for BCC, Inc., an infrastructure technology provider for international trade. Prior to joining BCC, Mr. Knight co-founded cobaltcard.com with Mr. Sokol and Mr. Frank A. Corsini, serving as V.P. of Merchant Partnerships, Marketing and Web.
