AMSTERDAM (11/28/2002) - Pan-European Internet services firm PSINet Europe BV will take over German Internet services provider Cybernet Internet-Dienstleistungen AG, it said Tuesday.
Cybernet`s infrastructure, customers and other assets will become part of PSINet Europe, the Hoofddorp, Netherlands company said in a statement. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
ANNONCE:
The announcement marks PSINet Europe`s first expansion, 14 weeks after two investment groups took control of the company. The buyers plan to create a European "one-stop shop" for Internet services through further acquisitions and partnerships, they have said. Customers will not experience any service disruption from the work on building PSINet Europe, the company said.
PSINet Europe has operations in 10 countries. The owners, Unicorn Holdings and Israel Corp., bought the company earlier this year for US$9.5 million in cash from bankrupt PSINet of Ashburn, Virginia.
Cybernet has a data center in Munich and offers hosting, (VPN) virtual private network and security services to about 3,000 customers, PSINet Europe said.
