AP Nutrition 21 Up on Albertson's Deal

PURCHASE, N.Y. (AP) -- Nutrition 21 Inc., a nutritional bioscience company, on Thursday said it has received an order from supermarket chain Albertson's Inc. for its Chromax supplement. Financial terms of the deal were undisclosed.
Shares of the company jumped 12 cents, or 9 percent, to $1.46 during afternoon trading on the Nasdaq. Its stock has traded in a 52-week range of 45 cents and $1.64.
Albertson's will distribute Chromax chromium picolinate product, which promotes insulin health, at Albertson's, Sav-on Drugs, Jewwel-Osco and OscoDrug chains.
Shares of Albertson's fell 8 cents to $25.76 in afternoon trading on the New York Stock Exchange. |
