MHM Joint Feasibility Study with American Aluminium Company & $12M Capital Raising _________________________________ ASX Release – 20 October 2010
• Contract with American aluminium company Smelter Service Corporation (SSC) to conduct joint feasibility study for salt slag processing • SSC produces 90,000 tonnes of salt slag per annum, owns a 350,000 tonne single purpose salt slag landfill which may be suitable for reprocessing • Alreco (MHM’s subsidiary) and SSC to discuss potential joint venture for the SSC salt slag reprocessing and landfill reclamation project • Alreco and SSC to discuss potential partnership throughout the United States where over 1,000,000 tonnes of salt slag is produced each year • Agreement with SSC is in addition to ongoing discussions with Alcoa USA and expected that outcomes with both parties would be complementary • Feasibility study scheduled to conclude by 30 June 2011 • MHM to raise $12,000,000 through private placement of 12,000,000 new fully paid ordinary shares at $1.00 per share to help fund the feasibility study, rapid expansion into the US market and for working capital
Ich stelle hier nur die wichtigsten Ausschnitte der ganzen Meldung rein:
... SSC produces approximately 90,000 tonnes of salt slag per annum and has a 350,000 tonne single purpose (‘mono-fill’) salt slag landfill that may be suitable for reprocessing. SSC alone produces nearly four times the 25,000 tonnes per annum salt slag that the entire Australian secondary aluminium industry produces. Alreco processes 100% of the salt slag that is produced in Australia and aims to achieve a similar outcome in the US, and ultimately globally. ... Australian operations are progressing well with MHM on track to earn an anticipated $230,000 EBITDA per month during the technology upgrade, increasing to an anticipated $8.6 million EBITDA per annum when the upgrade is complete. While the economics of the potential SSC salt slag operation will be determined by the feasibility study, it is believed similar profit margins can be achieved. It should be noted that Alreco owns 100% of any international salt slag operations and does not have to share profits as it presently does in Australia.

Ausschnitte:
... Limited promotion of company during last six months as management focused on fundamentals of the aluminium business and positioned company to expand overseas – this is about to change! ! ...
USA market potential - primary focus after Australia!
Around 1 million tpa of salt slag is produced in the USA (25,000 tpa produced in Australia)! Expansion into the USA originally planned for Q1 2011, brought forward! Salt slag can still be landfilled in the USA but industry has invested significant sums of money to unsuccessfully address issue. Industry increasingly aware of value of landfilled materials, environmental benefits of salt slag treatment and salt slag landfill reclamation!
Canadian market potential!
Salt slag not permitted in landfill. Inquiries from Canadian aluminium company received!
European Market Potential!
Salt slag landfill is not permitted in Europe. Two competing European salt slag processing technologies, Alreco’s technology has considerable Capex and Opex competitive advantages due to different nature of process! Inquiries from several European aluminium companies to conduct feasibility! Opportunities exist for Alreco in any jurisdiction that salt slag is produced – any country that has an active secondary aluminium industry! ... Competitors! MHM has conducted extensive patent review and analysis of competing salt slag processing technologies! Alternate processes are fundamentally different, and MHM’s ALNAK technology has significant capital and operating expense competitive advantages over the alternatives! This view has been confirmed by discussions with a number of aluminium companies that are familiar with competing technologies!
