You might be a "redneck investor" if.
or (you might have made a mistake in investing in a company if)

1. Your company has been recently delisted by AMEX.....
2. Your company has had to hire two or more search firms to look for new money....
3. Your last investors have reneged on 2.5 million of their 3 million dollar subscription agreement..
4. You have given away all your FDA approved products, closed both you production plants and have moved your home office 3 times in 3 years.
5. You still owe money to a celebrity spokesman who appeared only twice for your company and is now working for a competitor.
6. You are paying your new CEO more money than the company is presently taking in in sales.
7. All the assets of your company are pledged on loans to your largest investor, all due in 6.5 months.
8. Your 4-6 week clinical trial and approval in China is now in its 22nd month.
9. After 16 months of approvals you still have sold zero tests of your rapid oral or rapid urine tests.
10. After 2 months your largest potential customer has only ordered 3.55% of the tests they announced.

and Finally If the CEO of your company has been appointed by your largest shareholder, was dumped from his prior CEO position after that company was sold after 4 straight years of losses, and whose legacy at your company includes giving away all your FDA products, failure to find a qualified CEO, failure to hold promised CCs, declining sales and continued losses, an AMEX delisting, and finding "investors" who renege on their purchase agreements, and your company rewards him with the biggest CEO contract in company history and millions of free shares.. .

well you just might be a "redneck investor".

CDC to Issue Final Recommendations on Routine HIV Screening in Health Care Settings
WHAT: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will hold a telephone press briefing to announce new recommendations for routine HIV testing in health care settings. The recommendations are designed to make voluntary HIV screening a normal part of medical care for all patients ages 13 to 64. With these recommendations, CDC aims to simplify the HIV testing process in health care settings and increase early HIV diagnosis among the estimated more than 250,000 HIV-positive Americans who remain unaware of their infection. The recommendations also include new measures to improve diagnosis among pregnant women in order to further reduce mother-to-child HIV transmission. CDC officials will discuss the new recommendations and their anticipated impact on HIV treatment and prevention efforts in the United States.

Three months into the District's HIV campaign, almost 3 percent of more than 7,000 people tested at community health sites have been found to be positive for the virus -- more than double the national rate.

The city has distributed about 20,000 free oral-swab test kits to clinics, nonprofit groups, hospitals and other providers since it kicked off the campaign, which urges screening for all residents 14 to 84 years old. The incidence detected so far -- including in more than one of every 20 inmates at the D.C. jail -- is the first definitive look at the prevalence of HIV infection in the city.

The findings, announced yesterday during a meeting of the Mayor's Task Force on HIV and AIDS, support what local officials have long suspected: that the city has one of the highest infection rates in the country.

"All the numbers point to [the fact that] we have a serious problem in our community," said Marsha Martin, who leads the D.C. Administration for HIV Policy and Programs.

If the numbers hold up in the overall population as testing expands, they could presage far higher HIV rates within such at-risk groups as gays and IV-drug users. "It's very likely," Martin said. Already, the tests found that 10 percent of the men and women served recently by a needle-exchange program's mobile van were infected.

The city effort aims to make HIV testing a routine part of any health-care encounter, whether a regular checkup, an unscheduled trip to the hospital emergency room or a stop at a neighborhood wellness fair. Studies show that people who know their status are more likely to take action that would stop transmission of the virus. Those who know they are HIV positive are more likely to seek medical care that helps preserve their health.

As the campaign expands testing in coming months, it also will distribute $60,000 of prevention: 1 million condoms, delivering many of them to restaurants, bars, liquor stores and hotels in the hope that they will be readily visible and available for patrons and passersby.

Ron Simmons, president of the nonprofit group Us Helping Us, endorses the move. "Condoms should be plentiful," he said. "When people see them, they do tend to use them."

The first "Get Screened for HIV" promotions appeared in late June on buses and Metro trains and in radio announcements and pronouncements from such people as Mayor Anthony A. Williams (D). Community health-care providers administered 3,800 tests that month -- almost twice as many as usual, officials said yesterday.

During the summer, an additional 1,843 people were tested in other community settings, including the HIV administration's weekly appearances at Freedom Plaza downtown. The campaign returns there today with speakers and a group of hip-hop artists that sings about HIV prevention.

"We've come a long way," Martin said. "We have a community that is talking about HIV on an ongoing basis, and that's real important because before it wasn't being talked about at all."

The program has 80,000 test kits on hand and aspires to have them all distributed by the end of the year.

The oral swabs, which deliver results within 20 minutes, soon will be offered regularly at Howard University Hospital, and George Washington University Hospital has started a pilot program of routine testing in its emergency department. Student health centers at four local colleges also have agreed to do the same.

"Our students are very active in health and promoting good health," said Dan Bruey, health center director at American University. "Where we could help any, and prevent future spreading of HIV and future costs," seemed a good decision, he said.

This fall, Martin intends to approach about 200 District physicians to ask for their participation through their private practices. Nationally, the majority of HIV tests are done in doctors' offices, not public health venues.

By the end of the year, the HIV administration expects to have a complete analysis of people tested, by gender, age, ethnicity and possibly Zip code.

Calypte Announces Russian Federation Approval of Oral Fluid HIV Tests
Thursday September 21, 8:00 am ET

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore., Sept. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Calypte Biomedical Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: CBMC - News), medical diagnostic tests manufacturer for the detection of antibodies to the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) for the professional point of care (PRO) and over the counter (OTC) segments of the market announced today that it has received approval for its Aware(TM) Oral Fluid (OMT) HIV-1/2 rapid test for both PRO and OTC markets in the Russian Federation. The Russian Federation is now the second market, following the UAE, to approve the use of an HIV-1/2 test in OTC settings, permitting significantly greater access to HIV testing in these countries.

entered into the State Register of Articles of Manufacturing for Medical Purposes and Medical Technology and is valid through August 10, 2011. The approval was granted by the Minister of the Federal Service of Health Care and Social Development Control of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

Mr. Roger Gale, Calypte's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer stated, "We have worked closely with Marr Technologies B.V. ("Marr"), our strategic partner and the Company's largest investor, whose introductions and coordination directly facilitated this approval. We look forward to continuing to work with Marr as we establish our distribution system in the Russian Federation. We plan to utilize their expertise in this region in support of our sales and marketing activities."

Mr. Gale continued, "Calypte is into the sales phase of its lifecycle, and given the potential size of the Russian market, we expect that it will be one of our most significant markets for sales. It is one of our highest priorities and we believe we can begin to supply the Russian market by year end. We believe strongly that the privacy and non-invasive ease of use provided by our OTC test are attributes that squarely address the needs of the Russian Federation in its plans to contain the HIV/AIDS epidemic."

Mr. Max Soulimov, Calypte Board of Directors member, commented, "I am pleased that Marr was able to help facilitate the approval of this important product for the Russian Federation. Marr has a long history within the country and is committed to improving the quality of life inside Russia. Calypte's test is a safe and effective non-invasive HIV-1/2 rapid test that can support both government HIV/AIDS awareness and treatment programs and provide a personal and private option to Russian citizens. In my opinion, the OTC oral fluid rapid test will be a strong tool in the fight against AIDS."

Mr. Marat Safin, President of The Marr Group stated, "We are pleased to have assisted Calypte in obtaining approval for its Aware(TM) HIV-1/2 Oral Fluid rapid tests. It is well documented that young people aged 15 to 29 are increasingly bearing the brunt of new HIV infections and the number of reported cases of pregnant women with HIV has continued to increase significantly over the past few years. Marr is committed to be affiliated with these efforts to ensure the availability of this non-invasive test as a key component in a comprehensive response to combating the combined challenges of HIV and injection drug use in the Russian Federation."

About the Russian Federation:

The Russian Federation is home to 143 million people. According to the 2005 AIDS Epidemic Update jointly published by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and the World Health Organization (WHO), there are 860,000 adults living with AIDS in the Russian Federation (as of the end of 2003). The Update notes, "In early 2004, more than 80% of all officially reported HIV cases since the beginning of the epidemic had been among drug injectors. The epidemic, meanwhile, is becoming more mature. Most drug injectors are sexually active and, if HIV-infected, they can transmit the virus sexually to their casual or regular partners. About 6% of registered infections were related to sexual transmission in 2001; by 2004, that proportion had grown to 25%." The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation consider Russia one of the "Next Wave" countries facing the largest increase in HIV/AIDS this decade. In 2004, Russia established a Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) to address the situation. The CCM membership includes the government, as well as NGOs, the people living with AIDS network, and UNAIDS donors. The UNAIDS/WHO Update observes, "Substantial international funding has been made available to scale up harm reduction programmes and drug treatment services." Calypte believes that its non-invasive OTC rapid test can have an immediate positive impact on the effort to increase diagnosis and treatment of HIV/AIDS in this region.

About Calypte Biomedical:

Calypte Biomedical Corporation (http://www.calypte.com) is a U.S.-based healthcare company focused on the development and commercialization of diagnostic testing products for the detection of sexually transmitted diseases such as the HIV-1 BED Incidence EIA and new diagnostic test products for the rapid detection of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases, several of which do not require blood samples. Calypte believes there is a significant need for rapid detection of such diseases globally to control their proliferation, particularly in developing countries, which lack the medical infrastructure to support laboratory-based testing. Calypte believes that testing for HIV and other sexually transmitted infectious diseases may make important contributions to public health, and could increase the likelihood of treating those with undetected HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.

Sector Snap: Test Makers Gain on HIV News

Thursday September 21, 12:20 pm ET

HIV Test Makers See Shares Rise on News Routine Testing Recommended

NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of companies that manufacture tests for HIV gained in midday trading Thursday after the federal government recommended routine testing for all Americans between the ages of 13 and 64.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said HIV testing should become about as common as a cholesterol check. The recommendation doesn't carry the weight of law, but is expected to influence what doctors do and the types of coverage offered by health insurance programs.

Nearly half of new HIV infections are found when people come for some other kind of care and doctors are trying to diagnose them, CDC officials said.

"We know that many HIV infected people seek health care and they don't get tested. And many people are not diagnosed until late in the course of their illness, when they're already sick with HIV-related conditions," said Dr. Timothy Mastro, acting director of the CDC's division of HIV/AIDS prevention.

"By identifying people earlier through a screening program, we'll allow them to access life-extending therapy, and also through prevention services, learn how to avoid transmitting HIV infection to others," he said.

mich würde mal eure eigene meinung interesieren.
