ValCom Sues Megaupload.com for Copyright Infringement

CLEARWATER, Fla., March 23, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- ValCom, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: VLCO) announced today that it has retained legal counsel and filed a copyright infringement suit to secure millions of dollars of funds seized by government authorities in a raid on the popular file sharing site Megaupload.com.

The government indictment alleges that Megaupload.com engaged in criminal copyright infringement, money laundering, racketeering and various other offenses and a shell company associated with the website caused an estimated half-billion dollars in copyright losses and made an estimated $175 million in proceeds. The website was established in 2005 and at one point ranked as the 13th most-visited website on the Internet throughout the world.

 

ValCom owned content was pirated on the Megaupload.com group of sites. So far $42 million in suspected criminal proceeds has been seized in the raids on Megaupload.com and its related entities. ValCom owns more than 6,000 audio and video titles and has discovered that a significant number of the Company's copyrights were illegally distributed via Megaupload.com. In cases of willful copyright infringement plaintiffs are awarded either actual damages or statutory damages ranging from $750 - $150,000 per copyright infringed.

 

Vince Vellardita, President and CEO of ValCom, stated, "Together with our friends at Microhits, Inc., we have implemented an aggressive initiative to acquire back-due royalties and compensation to assure that we receive all revenues that are due to the Company. Megaupload.com allowed users to download some content for free, but made money by charging subscriptions to people who wanted access to faster download speeds or extra content. ...was sind das für Dummköpfe, die mehrere Kilos in ein niedrigeres BID werfen als kurz nach Handelsbeginn und vor der News.

Kann nur Dummheit sein oder Dumping, um den Kurs niedrig zu halten.

By the way: Ich gehe davon aus, dass Valcom keinen Cent von Megaupload sieht, und falls doch, dann wird das eine kleine Weile dauern.

Auf den ersten Blick sieht Microhits aus wie ein "normales" Label http://www.microhits.com

"Microhits Music Corp in Los Angeles, CA is a private company categorized under Music Licensing and Royalties."

Habe gerade keine Zeit, da weiter zu recherchieren, bin mir auch noch nciht sicher, ob Microhits Music Corp. das gleiche ist wie Microhits, Inc.

Vielleicht kann der Sache mal jemand auf den Grund gehen wer oder was das ist und was die machen ...

Und wenn am Dienstag noch Zahlen kommen sollten, gehts richtig los .... Aber das Minus in Deutschland kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. Egal, heute war Freitag! und das scheint ja Grund genug dafür :-)

Und 0,10€ ist gar nicht so abwägig. Hatten wir ja vor nem Jahr oder so auch schon... Und Valcom hat sich ja bis jetzt gut weiterentwickelt so wie es scheint. Aber Zahlen sind dringend von Nöten, sonst ist alles leider nur ausschließlich Spekulation und Glaube.

Ich gehe ebenfalls erst einmal nciht davon aus, dass am Dienstag irgendwas passiert. Wenn doch solls mri sehr gerne Recht sein.

 ich habe in einem anderen forum gelesen das die zahlen bald kommen werden und das dort nicht nur 1 sondern 2 jahre berechnet sind :)

das kann gut aber auch schlecht sein.. Dazu muss man sich nur die Zahlen der letzten 2 Jahre mal angucken
