Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is XXXXX and I invested in Banco Espirito Santo.
I don't understand how the principle of small investor protection goes together with a nationalization policy, which saves the money of all bondholders while at the same time all shareholders regardless of their investment objective are sacrified. As a small investor I trusted in all the messages of Banco de Portugal prior to the nationalization, anouncing that there's enaugh equity of Banco Espirito Santo to compensate losses and that the future of this bank will be secured. As I can read now, Banco de Portugal had been aware of the irregularities of the BES management already in 2013 but did not disclose its findings neither during the increase of capital nor in the week before the separation between the Band Bank and Novo Banco. The money I invested was intendet to be part of my retirement pension and I'm suprised that it should all be gone.
I read your official explanatory statement but that does'nt answers my questions. Is it the aim that small investors do not invest in bank shares anymore cause the risk is to high? Why did neither the Banco de Portugal nor the European institutions protect small investors by disclosing these risks to them? Will small investors be invited to buy shares of the Novo Banco? I can't believe that anyone will like to do after this procedure now. Please don't reply me your standard phrases I want to know what I can do to get my money back. Best regards,
