The number of oil rigs in the United States remained unchanged at 759 in the week ending September 1, according to the Baker Hughes weekly rig count released on Friday.
The number of US gas rigs increased by 3 to 183 in the same period. On an annual basis, the number of US oil rigs was up 446 from the same period last year. Similarly, the number of gas rigs rose by 95 on an annual basis.
Canada's rig count was down 16 from last week to 201, oil rings decreasing by 13 to 102 and gas rigs down by 3 to 99.
