Also soweit noch nix Tolles.
2 Fragen an Euch:

Press Release
SOURCE: ICON Financial Advisory Services, LLC
Western Digital And The Two: Global Gap Analysis And Labor Productivity Benchmarks Published
SAN DIEGO, CA --(INTERNET WIRE)--Apr 5, 2002 -- ICON FINANCIAL ADVISORY SERVICES, LLC (IFAS), a registered investment adviser, today released two of the most comprehensive studies to date on vertical gap analysis and labor productivity benchmarks for Western Digital Corporation (NYSE:WDC - news).
According to Aaron Freeman, President of IFAS, "We created these reports in response to two inescapable trends: a return to fundamentals and globalization." The goal of these reports is to assist consultants, financial managers, strategic planners, and corporate officers in gauging indicators of Western Digital's financial and human resource structure.
Drawing on the expertise of Professor Philip M. Parker of INSEAD (Fontainbleau, France and Singapore), IFAS has benchmarked Western Digital against competing firms in the Computer and Office Equipment industry worldwide--going beyond traditional methods of company benchmarking. The results are two specialized reports: (1) global financial benchmarks using common-size statement ratios (vertical analysis), and (2) labor-productivity and utilization measures collected across borders. Parker notes, "With the globalization of markets, greater foreign competition, and the reduction of barriers to entry, it becomes all the more important to benchmark a company's financial indicators on a worldwide basis."
Freeman states, "We are intrigued by the wide variations in basic financial and productivity measures between Western Digital and other Computer and Office Equipment companies. The gross profit margin, for example, varied from 80.38 to (9.47). We see this type of variation in the 100 or so ratios that we estimate."
What? : The Coverage of the Reports
Two reports, financial ratios and labor productivity ratios, are available for Western Digital. Each report reveals productivity and industry ranks for companies in the Computer and Office Equipment industry. Reports for over 80 companies in the Computer and Office Equipment industry are also available including:
Access Solutions International Inc., Adaptec Inc., Alanco Technologies Inc., Bowe Systec AG, Cal-Comp Electronics, , Cambex Corp., Data Translation Inc., Diebold Inc., D-Link Corp., Domino Printing Sciences PLC, Dynamics Research Corp., Electronic For Imaging Inc., EMC Corp., Ergodata S.A., Iomega Corp., Maxdata AG, Pinnacle Micro Inc., Quanta Computer, Quantum Corp., Return Assured Inc., Smartdisk Corp., Star Micronics Co. Ltd., Storage Computer Corp., Storage Engine Inc., Storage Technology Corp., Sun Microsystems Inc.
The reports answer such questions as: How has Western Digital's asset structure varied compared to global benchmarks for the Computer and Office Equipment industry? Does it generally hold more cash and other short-term assets, or does it tend to concentrate its assets in physical plant and equipment? On the liability side, does Western Digital typically have a higher percent of payables compared to the benchmarks, or does it hold a higher concentration of long-term debt? Does Western Digital have a relatively higher cost of goods sold, operating costs, or income taxes compared to global benchmarks? Have Western Digital's returns on equity been higher or its profit margins greater? What has been the ratio of short-term and long-term assets to employee? What are typical capital-labor ratios? What are the average sales and net profits per employee compared to global benchmarks?
How? : The IFAS Methodology
Most vertical analyses merely focus on benchmarking against domestic ratios, often published by government agencies or commercial sources. In contrast, IFAS calculates thousands of industry norms by looking at firms at the global level, pooling statistics on tens of thousands of companies across over 40 countries, and applying a seven-stage methodology: (1) identification of industry classifications, (2) firm-level data collection and aggregation, (3) standardization of raw statistics, (4) filtering outliers, (5) calculation of global norms, (6) projection of deviations and gaps, and (7) projection of ranks and percentiles. For each part of the financial statement, the larger structural differences and gaps between Western Digital and the global benchmarks are provided with summary tables of ranks and percentiles.
Previously available only through booksellers such as Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, and Hoovers, two studies are now available direct from the publisher at a 50% discount off the cover price. This special offer includes Vertical Analysis and International Financial Benchmarks and Labor Productivity, Utilization and Global Benchmarks at US$ 199.90 ($99.95 each). Fax, 858-546-4341 or write iconsubs@san.rr.com, for more information.
About IFAS
IFAS assists managers with global benchmarking, gap analysis, and productivity studies. Clients can create their own benchmarks by choosing their competitors from among over 20,000 companies.

UPDATE 1-Western Digital raises third-quarter outlook
Wed Mar 30, 2005 05:30 PM ET
(Recasts, adds executive comment, stock activity)

SAN FRANCISCO, March 30 (Reuters) - Western Digital Corp. (WDC.N: Quote, Profile, Research) raised its fiscal third-quarter profit and revenue targets on Wednesday, citing better-than-expected pricing for desktop hard drives and driving shares of hard disk drive makers up in after-hours trade.

Western Digital said it now expects to earn 29 cents to 31 cents a share for the third fiscal quarter ending April 1. It sees revenue of $900 million to $915 million with gross margin of about 18 percent.

The company previously had said it expected to have per-share earnings of 16 cents to 19 cents on revenue of $885 million to $915 million and gross margin of about 14.5 percent.

"Overall industry demand for hard drives in the traditional computing markets during the March quarter has been seasonal as expected but consumer demand trends have been better than anticipated," Western Digital Chairman and Chief Executive Matt Massengill said in a statement.

He added that consumer demand for both high capacity desktop hard drives and for hard drives in personal and digital video recorders and similar gadgets has remained strong throughout the quarter.

"Coupled with a well balanced supply and demand environment, these trends have led to a more-favorable-than-anticipated pricing environment," Massengill said.

Shares of Western Digital, which closed up 23 cents to $11.17 on the New York Stock Exchange, rose 12 percent to $12.50 in after-hours trade.

Likewise, shares of No. 1 computer disk drive maker Seagate Technology (STX.N: Quote, Profile, Research) climbed almost 5 percent to $19.80 in extended trade from its close of $18.92 and Maxtor Corp. shares gained 6 percent to $5.25 from their close of $4.95.

SAN FRANCISCO, April 21 (Reuters) - Computer disk-drive maker Western Digital Corp. (WDC.N: Quote, Profile, Research) on Thursday topped its recently raised profit and revenue forecasts fueled by healthy PC demand and a surge in consumer electronics market sales.

Jedenfalls neues Viel-Jahres-Hoch heute.

endgültig og unwiderruflich wegoperieren möchte.

Gestern noch von einem Dummschwätzer empfohlen, verliert
Premiere heute mal eben so weit über 40 %.

WDC hätte keine Perpektive schwätzen zig Affen in USA seit Monaten.

Was erzähle ich Euch seit Jahren ?

"verschenken" ?

Western Digital Shares Gain After Upgrade
Monday January 9, 12:24 pm ET

Western Digital Shares Jump As Analyst Sees Market Share Gains From Rivals' Combination

NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of Western Digital Corp. rose to a new 52-week high Monday, after the maker of hard disk drives received an upgrade from an analyst who sees the company benefiting from a recently announced merger of two rivals.

Hard drive maker Seagate Technology agreed to buy rival Maxtor Corp. last month. Deutsche Bank analyst Chris Whitmore wrote in a client note he expects Western Digital to be the "largest beneficiary" of the resulting shift in market share.

The analyst, who upgraded the company to "Buy" from "Hold" and raised his price target to $24 from $14, said he sees Western Digital's market share on desktop units growing from about 26 percent in the third quarter of 2005 to about 31 percent by the first quarter of 2007.

Shares rose $1.36, or 6.8 percent, to $21.26 in late morning trading on the New York Stock Exchange, after earlier reaching as high as $21.45. In the past 52 weeks, the stock has traded between $9.84 and $19.94.

Whitmore wrote that the Maxtor acquisition creates a "healthier industry," with a lesser likelihood of aggressive pricing actions -- benefiting all manufacturers.

PC desktop original equipment manufactures, he said, like to keep a 40-30-30 ratio between their top suppliers. In the past, Seagate held the top spot, followed by Western Digital and Maxtor.

With the combined Seagate and Maxtor now representing more than 50 percent of desktop units, the analyst expects original equipment manufacturers "to begin shifting share away from the new company" in favor of Western Digital, as well as Japan's Hitachi and South Korea's Samsung.

The analyst boosted his fiscal 2006 earnings estimate to $1.33 per share on revenue of $4.14 billion, from the prior earnings estimate of $1.18 per share on sales of $4.05 billion.

On average, analysts are expecting earnings of $1.23 per share on sales of $4.03 billion, according to a poll by Thomson Financial.

For fiscal 2007, Whitmore raised his outlook to earnings of $1.82 per share on sales of $4.43 billion, from earnings of $1.25 per share on revenue of $4.18 billion.

Analysts, on average, are looking for earnings of $1.35 per share on sales of $4.21 billion.

Seagate shares rose 75 cents, or 3.5 percent, to $22.14 in midday trading on the New York Stock Exchange, after earlier hitting $22.05. The stock jumped past its prior 52-week high of $21.50. At the current level, the terms of the acquisition agreement currently value Maxtor shares at $8.19.

Maxtor shares rose 25 cents, or 3.4 percent, to $7.72 on the New York Stock Exchange, eclipsing an old 52-week high of $7.50.

WDC21.47, +0.85, +4.1%) said it earned $104.3 million, or 47 cents a share, on revenue of $1.1 billion. During the same period a year ago, the hard-disk drive maker earned $56 million, or 26 cents a share, on $955 million in revenue.

Excluding stock-option expenses, Western Digital earned $108.4 million, or 49 cents a share, to beat the estimates of analysts surveyed by Thomson First Call, who forecast a profit of 37 cents a share on revenue of $1.06 billion.

Western Digital officials said that total disk shipments rose 12% over a year ago when it shipped 16.2 million units.

The company said 74% of its revenue came from hard drives for desktop computers, while the remaining 26% of sales were from notebook PCs, consumer electronics, retail sales and enterprise products.

Western Digital shares rose $1.19, or more than 5%, to $21.47 in after-hours trading following a rise of 85 cents in the regular market session.

Also trotz DB hoffentlich morgen noch etwas Kurssteigerung.
