Habe für die "Überleser" das zur Info markiert: http://www.wamuequity.org/collaboration/ I am so happy to report to you that on Thursday all of our letters will be hand delivered to our attorney. He will call the DOJ Trustee once he has them and schedule an appointment to hand deliver the letters and ask for an Equity Committee to be appointed. Hopefully that will be next week, if the Trustees calendar allows. Should the trustee refuse again, our attorney will submit a motion to the Court requesting the Equity Committee. After watching our Judge, Mary Walrath in action, I feel pretty confident she will allow it. She seems to be a very fair judge. The attorneys (we actually have 3 of them working on this case) are very happy with the number of people and shares that we have managed to join with us in requesting an Equity Committee, and the work that has been done so far. I am very appreciative of all of your help in getting letters to us, and I especially appreciate the help of those people who provided the necessary information quickly, without us having to email you to death. If I never have to write another email about this, I’ll be happy. Our final total is nearly 100 million common stock and we may actually have 100 million in the next day or two–so if we still need your letter get it to us quickly, by fax or scanned attachment in an email. If you scan, make sure the file is letter size and is dark enough to be read. Follow faxes up with a hard copy in th email with a notation that a FAX was previously sent. This is to prevent letters from being “lost” if they don’t get to us by FAX, which can happen and help us figure out if things are duplicates. We continue to have difficulties in getting shareholder letters. We have only gotten 3500 of those, although about 6000 people either registered or sent letters to us. We still have many people who sent letters in without a share count, and those people did not register on line either. There are a few main problems we have identified. 1) Many people did not giving us sufficient information in their online registration to be able to match those up to their letters. There are at least 1000-2000 like that. We expected to match telephone numbers, so when people did not provide that info, and their names were not clearly written, it presented problems. HUGE problems. 2) Some people only used one name and an email address (and the e-mail address was wrong in about 50 cases) and gave us no other identifying information. It is amazing to me that some people would think they are the only Greg, or Sue or Joe etc to send a letter. We have tried so many times to contact people and they don’t respond. They think the email must be “for the other folks” . If you got an email from me requesting your letter, rest assured it was meant specifically for you. Every e-mail I have sent out was specifically sent to people who needed to contact us to get their information straight. A lot of people ignored the emails, perhaps thinking they were bulk e-mails. I assure you they were not bulk emails for everyone, I had to manually send every one of the 6500 emails I sent out…so if you got an email, saying we needed your letter, you need to contact me if you have not done so. Sometimes it is just a matter of you furnishing a bit more info to be able to match you up to your letter, and less often we just did not get your letter. Sometimes people faxed us blank pages. Most times we are finding people just did not give us enough information on line to match up their letters with their share counts. This has been extremely frustrating for both myself and Dorothea. Had people provided the info we asked for, this would have been completed at least a month ago. So, if you got an email from me asking for your letter, and you did not email me, or send in a letter, to get things straight, then we probably still need get your information so we can get your file straight. Every person and every share counts! If you want to verify whether we have your letter on file, if you recieved an e-mail asking for one, just email me with the full name you used on your letter, and your phone number and email address (use the same email address you used to register online) …With luck, we have the letter you sent, we just don’t have enough info to match it to your online registration. I am also happy to report that soon I’ll be able to get back to what I like to do, and what I think is most important, which is to get information on our website about the court case, and how that is going. I hope to get a “legal” post in newest news section soon. In it, I plan to put up links to all of the most important legal documents. If you have tried to look at the court documents on the KCC site, you know it is mind boggling to figure our what all that “stuff” means. I hope I can make that more clear for those of you who have not followed this since October as I have. I have had several offers to help put documents in this section, as they can be picked up on google alerts, but no one has followed through. If you think you have important info that you want to share about Washington Mutual, use the PR forum to work out your ideas, and join with others in writing. Let me know what your subject is before you start writing. Even if you just want to inform folks about things relating to the current state of our economy, that is fine. NO POLITICS OR RELIGION PLEASE. There ARE topics we need to stay away from, from a legal standpoint. The Blogs MUST be factual, 100%. You must also be careful that you don’t say anything that we (or should I say ME) could be sued over. If you are not sure, ask me. Since I am responsible for this site, I do have the final say about what we do and what we don’t put up on the site. Please do discuss with me before you do too much work on a particular subject, to make sure it is something we can or should put on the site. It really goes better when a few people write something. Once you have something finished, e-mail me and I’ll give it a once over. There are lots of hints in the PR forum. Thank you all for being so patient…especially those who sent in their info correctly and promptly. Have a great day, and be sure to check out all the info we have on the site. Hopefully we’ll be adding to that in the near future. There is so much to know about this complex case. Joyce JPresnall@wamuequity.org |
