ERWARTET
Norderstedt, 19. August 1999 - Die Softmatic AG, führender
Anbieter von Standardsoftware für mittelständische Unternehmen
der Prozessindustrie, präsentiert zum erstenmal seit dem
Börsengang am Neuen Markt im Juni 1999 ihr Halbjahresergebnis.
Das Umsatzvolumen nach U.S.GAAP stieg im Vergleich zum
Vorjahreszeitraum deutlich von 12,5 Mio. DM auf 16,8 Mio. DM,
was einer Steigerung von 34,4 % entspricht. Besonders
erfreulich hat sich der Auftragsbestand entwickelt. Im
Vergleich zum Vorjahreszeitraum erhöhte sich das
Auftragsvolumen um 74,2 % von 7,4 Mio. DM auf 12,9 Mio. DM.
Schneller als erwartet hat die Softmatic AG ihre internationale
Präsenz ausgebaut. Geplant war im zweiten Quartal 1999 die
Gründung einer Auslandsniederlassung. Erreicht wurde neben der
Gründung der Softmatic Gesellschaft für Informationsmanagement
mbH in Wien / Österreich per 1.4.1999 auch die Gründung der
Softmatic B.V. in Sliedrecht / Niederlande per 1.6.1999. Damit
liegt die Softmatic AG mit der Umsetzung ihrer
Internationalisierungs-strategie deutlich über Plan. Darüber
hinaus ist seit dem 1.7.1999 auch die Softmatic Ltd. in London
/ Großbritannien gegründet worden. Die Vorbereitungen der
Landesniederlassung in Barcelona / Spanien sind fast
abgeschlossen.
In Deutschland wurde das Vertriebsnetz um die Niederlassung
Frankfurt erweitert und umfasst nun 7 Standorte. Die
Mitarbeiteranzahl ist im ersten Halbjahr 1999 um 46 auf 201
gestiegen, was einer Steigerung von 81 % im Vergleich zum
30.6.1998 (111) entspricht.
Die nun vorgelegten U.S. GAAP - Halbjahreszahlen spiegeln im
wesentlichen das geplante Ergebnis der Softmatic AG wider.
Bedingt durch das deutlich über Plan liegende Wachstum im
Mitarbeiterbereich sowie dem schneller als geplant
vorangetriebenen internationalen Ausbau ist das operative
Halbjahresergebnis mit - 4,3 Mio. DM etwas stärker belastet als
geplant.
Die strategischen Partnerschaften mit Cognos und Microsoft
wurden weiter ausgebaut. Die Softmatic AG kann nun auch eine
integrierte Komplettlösung für Management Informations Systeme
anbieten. Die Branchenlösung SQLblending wird unmittelbar nach
Freigabe von Microsofts Windows 2000 auch für dieses
Betriebssystem zur Verfügung stehen.
Auf Grund dieser positiven Geschäftsentwicklung, der
eingeschlagenen Wachstumsstrategie sowie der traditionell
stärkeren Ertragslage im zweiten Halbjahr geht die
Geschäftsleitung davon aus, daß die ehrgeizigen Pläne für den
Gesamtumsatz von 42 Mio. DM in 1999 und das damit verbundene
Wachstum von rund 71 % gegenüber dem Vorjahr erreicht werden.

INTERNATIONAL BUILD-UP OF DISTRIBUTION NETWORK
A MORE DYNAMIC INCOME SITUATION IS EXPECTED FOR THE SECOND HALF
OF 1999
Norderstedt, August 19, 1999 - Softmatic AG, leading supplier
of ERP-software for small and medium sized enterprises in the
processing industry, presents its half-year results for the
first time since going public on the Neuen Markt in June 1999.
Compared to first half-year 1998, U.S.GAAP revenues increased
by 34,4 % from 12,5 Mio. DM to 16,8 Mio. DM. Particularly
gratifying is the increase in the order backlog by 74,2 % from
7,4 Mio. DM to 12,9 Mio. DM compared with first half-year
results 1998.
Faster than anticipated, Softmatic AG has build up its
international presence. Planed was the opening of one foreign
branch during the second quarter of 1999. Besides the opening
of Softmatic Gesellschaft für Informationsmanagement mbH in
Vienna / Austria on April, 1 1999, the Softmatic B.V. in
Sliedrecht / Netherlands was opened on June 1, 1999. With that,
the implementation of Softmatics internationalization strategy
is significantly above plan. Additionally, the Softmatic Ltd.
in London / Great Britain has been found since July 1, 1999.
The preparations for a new branch in Barcelona / Spain are
almost completed.
In Germany, the Frankfurt branch has been added to the
distribution network, now counting 7 locations in total. The
number of employees increased by 46 to 201 during the past six
months, an increase of 81 % compared to 111 employees on June
30, 1998.
The first half-year U.S. GAAP figures presented here generally
reflect the anticipated result of Softmatic AG. Due to the
significantly above plan growth in the numbers of employees and
the faster than anticipated implementation of the international
build-up of our distribution network, the operative result for
the first half-year is slightly lower than planed (- 4,3 Mio.
DM).
The strategic partnerships with Cognos and Microsoft have been
further intensified. Softmatic AG can now offer an integrated
solution for management information systems. The industry
solution SQLblending will be available to run on Windows 2000
immediately after the release of Microsofts new operating
system.
Due to the positive business development, the implemented
growth strategy and the traditionally stronger income situation
during the second half of each year, the management expects to
reach the targets of total revenues of 42 Mio. DM in 1999 and
an increase of approx. 71 % compared to the previous year.
Third quarter results will be published on November 19, 1999.
