YRC Worldwide auctioning 62 properties
YRC Worldwide Inc. has hired Chicago-based NRC Realty & Capital Advisors LLC to coordinate the auction of 62 surplus YRC sites throughout the U.S.
Overland Park, Kan.-based trucking company YRC Worldwide has about 560 workers in St. Louis.
None of the YRC properties being auctioned are in the St. Louis area. They are primarily in the Midwest and Southwest, but some are in New England, Texas and Los Angeles.
Some of the properties have been on the market for more than three years, and YRC is marking them down, YRC CFO Jamie Pierson said, according to real estate news site REJournals.com. NRC has set a deadline of March 15 for bids on the properties.
YRC Worldwide reported that its 2011 third-quarter revenue rose 12 percent to $1.276 billion, slightly above the $1.275 billion expected by analysts.
YRC Worldwide (Nasdaq: YRCWD) ranked as the worst Fortune 500 stock, losing 99 percent of its value in 2011 and earning a place on the worst-performing list for the second straight year. The company laid off six executives in October.
