Australian firms invited to participate in major innovation showcase in India

Leading Australian technology firms, research institutions and universities seeking investment or partnership opportunities in India are invited to participate in the second Australian Innovation Showcase there from 15 September to 15 October 2014.

‘India's Top 50 business groups are entering new business verticals to capitalise on sunrise industries’, she said. ‘They are increasing R&D budgets and international collaboration, and acquiring, licensing or partnering with international companies to access new technologies.’ So far an estimated 100 Indian companies have invested in Australia, with total Indian investment valued at A$10 billion in 2013 – a substantial increase from A$609 million in 2006. India’s US$100 billion conglomerate, the Tata Group, has invested or partnered with emerging Australian clean technology companies such as Geodynamics, Exergen, Dyesol and Sunengy to develop new world-first technologies for its projects across the world.
Energy company Thermax has invested in R&D with CSIRO and the University of New South Wales to develop nanostructured semiconductors, which could help reduce the cost of solar energy by 10 per cent. ..............
