Er residierte in Prag, wo er viel Zeit seinen künstlerischen und wissenschaftlichen Interessen widmete. Seine gegenreformatorischen Bestrebungen und seine zunehmende Inaktivität führten zu einer Verschwörung gegen ihn und er musste Ungarn, Mähren, Österreich und später auch Böhmen abtreten. Erinnert an Rudolf Scharping, oder?
