It seems to me that the money that's being offered is just for the spectrum, imo. Nothing has come out and said it, but the only thing any of the articles have said that DISH is interested in is the spectrum. It's worth about a billion by itself. So having echostar write off a bunch of debt and then giving tstrq a bunch of money seems pretty fair to me. Terrestar has two monster satellites worth well over a billion together, and the chipset for their phone. I think it's safe to assume they're going to hold on to AT LEAST one of their satellites, and IMO they'll hold on to both, plus their chipset, and only sell the spectrum license. If that's how things go, then they'll have WELL over a billion dollars of assets left. IMO.
IMO the ABSOLUTE worst case scenario is them selling the spectrum and just ONE of their satellites (which I don't believe will be the case). IF that is the case, they'll still have nearly a billion in assets. And most importantly NO DEBT!!! |
