Im dritten Quartal kommen weiter Kosteneinsparungen dazu: ca. + 50 Millionen +37,5 Millionen Verkauf Logitik (-20 Millionen Strafzahlung, + 10 Millionen verkauf Tower in Kanada - 10 Millionen Zahlung wegen Rassismus) I've been keeping track of bill count posted here since Feb 22 and averaging them in a spreadsheet:
September's average bill count per weekday (excluding holidays) is 44,595 so far...that's greater than EVERY month since February except June:
Feb (partial month): 42,045 March: 42,962 April: 43,230 May: 44,241 June: 44,840 July: 44,256 August:44,099 Sep: 44,595
Also, Q3 bill coutn so far is higher than Q2: 44,316 vs 44,103
That is fantastic news-and for those who will point out bill count in july and aug being down from their previous month: Although bill coutn would normally mean lower revenue, everything else being equal, we know from the conference call on Aug 3 that Tonnage in July was down only about 1.3%, if i remember correctly, which means that tonnage PER DAY is actually up in July, since there were about 4.5% fewer weekdays in July vs June.
Also, look at the bill count: from May to June, the rise was about 1.4%...but revenue actually rose about 11%, looking at the Q. So, a fall in bill count does NOT mean that revenue decreased.
Higher bill count is good, but the amount of tonnage on those bills, as well as pricing level, seems to be much more critical.
And given that June levels of revenue were MUCH higher than April and May with only a small increase in bill count, I see no reason why revenue isn't similar or higher in july to sep.
Add in the fact about rumors of YRCW increasing rates at these high bill count levels (Sep could be even better!) |
