The closely held Cupertino, Calif., firm has met with members of Congress and started an educational campaign to raise awareness about the threats posed by proposed reforms, says TPL's founder and chairman, Dan Leckrone. It has also begun filing friend-of-the-court briefs in intellectual-property cases to ensure its voice is heard. So far, TPL, which holds more than 180 patents, has filed four such briefs, at an average cost of $75,000, says Mr. Leckrone. "We've spent enormous amounts of time and money getting people to listen," he says.

Mr. Leckrone says the Supreme Court has reformed the patent system more than enough in recent years in favor of big business. In particular, the high court has issued rulings that, among other things, have lowered the standard for invalidating patents on grounds of obviousness and made it more difficult for companies that sell only patent licenses, not products, to obtain injunctions on infringing products.

"These cases have created a disincentive to talk to patent owners and take a license," Mr. Leckrone says.

If the patent-reform bill is passed, he says, the system will be skewed even further against small companies and independent inventors. That's because the provision linking damages to the economic value of a patent, known as apportionment, would be used by large companies to devalue patents and cut damage exposure, he says. That would lower the deterrent value of patents and lead to more infringement, he says. "Why buy the cow if you can get milk through the fence?" says Mr. Leckrone.

ich hatte auch nichts dazu gefunden. Merkwürdig ist das schon, denn man sollte meinen, dass bei einem Merger die Geschäftszahlen beider Unternehmen auf dem Tisch liegen sollten. Na ja, bekannt sind sie bestimmt, nur eben uns ollen Aktionären nicht.

Ich hatte mal in meiner Ausbildung meinen Chef gefragt, wozu braucht man eine PR-Agentur. Seine einfache Antwort war: da kaufst du dir den Zugang zu dem Telefonbuch der Agentur, die Adressen wichtiger Schreiberlinge - so ähnlich sehe ich auch diese Fusion: Man kauft sich Kontakte, die man für die Vermarktung der Sicherheitstechnik benötigt, ein bisschen Software-Quellcode gibt’s noch extra.

20 Mio. Umsatz und dann für 10 Mio. verkauft - glaube ich nicht, 1-2 Jahresumsätze Abgeld sagt man doch bei Übernahmen als Faustregel....

Ich glaube die Zahlen interessieren die Käufer z.Z. nicht so sehr, es sei denn es gibt mal eine richtige Überraschung.

Käufe sind im Moment überhaupt sehr wenige unterwegs, wie man an den Umsätzen an den Börsen sehen kann. Das muss aber nichts schlechtes bedeuten.

Was   schmerzt, ist doch der Umstand, dass für den "crossflo-deal   30.000.000 Shares"  ausgegeben werden, womit wir bei ca. 440.000.000 authorized Shares sind.

Ergibt natürlich  eine Verwässerung der Rendite von ca. 10 % pro Shares.
Der Kurs dürfte also die nächsten Tage bis  $ 0.22,  $ 0.21  nochmals zurückkommen, es sei denn es kommen nächstens recht gute News,

Nassie & Abenteurer, was meint Ihr zu den Zahlen ?  

das 30 Mio. neuer Aktien ausgegeben werden, sehe ich negativ, auch wenn schon lange 500.000.000 autorisiert sind. Die Zahlen sind sonst im Rahmen meiner Erwartung.

Ganz allgemein kommt mir PTSC im Moment mächtig chaotisch vor, das mag an der Umstellung an dem Umbau der Firmenstruktur liegen, kann aber auch damit zusammenhängen, dass ich den "großen Plan" den das Management hat nicht ganz verstehe.

Ich weiß ja nicht ob mein Ticker spinnt, aber wenn nicht, dann wurde heute nicht eine PTSC-Aktie in Deutschland gehandelt.

Mit dem Kurs sehe ich das ähnlich wie Du, allerdings bin ich da noch etwas pessimistischer - anders ausgedrückt: ich warte mit meinem Wiedereinstieg noch.

für eine Firma die vor 3 Jahren noch kurz vor der Pleite stand. Ich bin auch alles in allem mit der Entwicklung sehr zufrieden. Der Aktienpreis könnte durchaus besser sein, aber der pendelt sich füher oder später auf einem angemessenen Niveau ein.

Man arbeitet am Image der Firma, weil ja die Patent-Trolle keinen guten Ruf haben, so ist man heute schon halb ein Sicherheitstechnikunternehmen. Ich werde meine Altbestände natürlich weiter halten und hier und da mal mit etwas flexibler Kohle einsteigen.

Ich glaube Aktionäre werden in der nächsten Zeit viel Freude haben, denn täglich wird der noch immer exorbitant hohe Ölpreis weiter nach unter geprügelt. Ständig gibt es immernoch das Gerede von den hohen Energiepreisen und auf der andern Seite klagt die Wirtschaft über fast Stagnation, demnächst werden Abermillarden Petrodollar, die sich in den letzten Jahren in Russland und den sonstigen Ölexportländern angesammelt haben in den sehr mäßig bewerteten Aktienmarkt fließen. Irgendwo muss will das Geld ja anglegt werden, in Neuerschließungen lohnt nicht bei fallenden Ölpreisen, Immobilien sind out, die Inflation macht den Sparkontoanlagen und den Anleihen das Leben schwer, bleibt nur der Aktienmarkt.

Eins kann ich nicht verstehen Abenteurer.
Jetzt bist Du pessimistischer als vor einigen Monaten/Wochen ?
Das ist ehrlich gesagt nicht zu verstehen, denn in der Grundstory hat sich gar nicht geändert. Das Damoklesschwert ist und bleibt lediglich die Entscheidung der Patentbehörde. Werden die 2 wichtigen Patente als "Nichtig" beurteilt, dann ist alles im Eimer, nämlich der Aufhänger der Story.
Somit ist dies die Einzige wirklich wichtige Entscheidung. Davon wird wohl auch jeder weitere Gerichtsstreit abhängig gemacht werden können. D.h. --> Pro PTSC --> Viel Geld !
Die Aussage PTSC kommt dir derzeit mächtig chaotisch vor hätte schon dann vor Monaten fallen sollen. Da war es chaotischer. Dann hätte ich schon lange verkauft und wäre wieder eingestigen. Deshalb ist das alles etwas...naja....nicht nachvollziehbar....brauch es auch nicht. Nur dann würde ich jetzt gar nichts sagen.

ich glaube da hast Du mich falsch verstanden oder ich hab mich falsch ausgedrückt. Ich bin nicht pessimistisch was PTSC angeht. Mit chaotisch meinte ich eher den Geschäftsbericht, die aktuelle Situation der sich im Umbau befindlichen reinen Patent-Halter-Firma hin zu einem Sicherheitstechnikunternehmen / einer Beteiligungsgesellschaft. Ich hab fast einen halben Tag gebraucht um den Bericht durchzulesen - das mag an meinen schlechten englisch Kenntnissen liegen oder an den komplexer werdenden Geschäftsstrukturen.

Was die Entscheidung vom Patentamt angeht, sehe ich das ganz genauso wie Du.

Couldn't cut and paste it but this is good news IMHO: From pg. 4 The Patent Owner discussed the cited references and how they differ from the instant invention. Notably, the Patent Owner argued that the Kajigaya reference DOES NOT USE a RING OSCILLATOR to provide a system clock to a microprocessor, and of a microprocessor that operates based on program instructions. Similarly, the secondary reference of Hashimoto was argued as NOT DRIVING a MICROPROCESSOR. The examiner would reconsider the rejections based on written arguments which would be submitted in response to the Office action dated 6/25/08. NO KIDDING! Wenn man einen Faden nimmt und diesen über die Beteiligungen zieht, wird man erkennen was da entsteht.

...Ich mache hier mal eine Behauptung auf, die nur meine persönliche Meinung darstellt.

Meiner Meinung nach werden noch weitere Firmenzukäufe aus folgenden Bereichen dazukommen:

-Chipkartenhersteller.

-Eine Softwarefirma zur Herstellung von Programmen zur Verschlüsselung und zum sicheren Datentransfer(Enkryptographie).


...Diese alten Hunde basteln sich gerade was phenomenales zusammen.

Jedes der Unternehmen wird ihre Selbständigkeit beibehalten und weiter auch als solche agieren, als Profit-Center. Nur werden gerade durch die Verbindungen Sie aber Ihren jeweiligen Kunden die Möglichkeit eines Gesamtpakets anbieten. Mit einer Lösung und Service aus einer Hand.

Modular, zugeschnitten auf die Bedürfnisse und Finanzstärke des Kunden.

Es wird durch die Selbständigkeit der einzellnen Unternehmen jeweils in Ihren Bereichen einen breiten Spektrum an Kunden ansprechen und diese dann den Bedürfnissen entsprechend mit den anderen Unternehmen abstimmen und Lösungen anbieten.

Interessant hierzu wäre es vielleicht mal zu rechercieren, ob es ein Unternehmen gibt, dass alles aus einer Hand bietet, sowohl Hardware, Software und Infrastruktur.


Zum Kurs kann man viele Spekulationen aufstellen, aber soviel Manipulation ist irgendwie verdächtig,...
