Lenovo Group
(00992) said its profit attributable
to equity holders rose 20.1% year-on-year to US$303 million for the six months ended 30
September 2012.
Its basic and diluted earnings per share were US2.95 cents and US2.89 cents.
The revenue was US$16.68 billion, an increase of 22% from a year earlier. Gross profit
rose 19% to US$2.01 billion. Gross margin for the interim period declined slightly by 0.3
percentage point from the same period last year to 12%, due to the higher mix of consumer
products.
Sales of the Group's PC business were US$14.83 billion, up 14% year-on-year, while the
sales of Mobile Internet and Digital Home business, which was largely from smartphone
sales in China, surged 163% year-on-year to US$1.31 billion.
The proposed interim dividend is HK4.5 cents (2011: HK3.8 cents) per share, payable on 3
December.
For the three months ended 30 September 2012, the net profit rose 12.6% year-on-year to
US$162 million. The revenue grew 11.4% to US$8.67 billion. (HL)
