Hong Kong's New World Development more than doubles 2007 net profit

Hong Kong-listed diversified conglomerate New World Development Co said its net profit more than doubled in 2007 from increased contributions from associate companies.

The company's net earnings were up 118.4 percent at 5.77 billion Hong Kong dollars, compared with 2.61 billion last year.

Profit from associated companies more than doubled to 1.32 billion dollars.

Revenue fell 625.7 million dollars or 2.6 percent to 23.28 billion dollars.

Earnings per share rose to 1.17 dollars from 0.30.

New World Development's principal activities are the provision of construction and engineering services.

Other activities include provision of telecommunication services, operations of department stores, property investment and development, hotel and restaurant operations, infrastructure operations and investment holding.  

Hong Kong's New World Devt sharply higher on FY net profit surge



New World Development Co shares were sharply higher after news that the company's net profit surged to 4.3 bln hkd in the year ended June from 1.06 bln in the previous fiscal year.

The property firm's earnings jumped as its share of earnings from associates rose 102 pct to 1.33 bln hkd during the year.

The stock was up 1.15 hkd or 5.09 pct at 23.75.

Its unit New World China was up 0.12 hkd or 1.6 pct at 7.62 after announcing that its year to June net profit rose 61 pct to 1.19 bln hkd, from the year-earlier 740.51 mln, on robust performances by its property sales and property rental divisions.

kann mir jemand einkleinwenig helfen.
diese aktie halte ich schon seit geraumer zeit ,es tut sich aber fast kaum was am kurs.
welche aussichten sind in den nächsten monaten zu erwarten.

Seit dem Frühjahr sind die Anleger bei konjunktursensiblen chinesischen Unternehmen skeptisch. Das führte auch bei New World Development zu einem Abwärtstrend, der inzwischen das dritte tiefere Hoch ausgebildet hat. Dabei sind die Marktteilnehmer nicht besonders einfallsreich. Im Chart fallen ganzzahlige Marken auf, die zur Orientierung dienen. Bei 9,00 $ hat der Kurs nun einen Kreuzwiderstand erreicht, der aus der fallenden Trendlinie und dem 200-Tage-Durchschnitt (rot) gebildet wird und daher schwer zu knacken sein dürfte.

Fällt der Kurs unter 8,60 $, so wäre er am Widerstand gescheitert. Er könnte dann zum letzten Tief zurückkehren, das bei 8,00 $ lag. Unerwartet positiv wäre dagegen ein Durchbruch über 9,30 $. Damit wären die Hindernisse beseitigt, die die Aufwärtsbewegung derzeit erschweren. Der Kurs würde dann bei 10,00 $ auf den nächsten Widerstand treffen.
