XsunX Achieves Crucial Development Milestone:

Announces Completed Hybrid CIGS Thin-film Solar Device

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., January 5, 2010 - XsunX, Inc. (XSNX), the developer of advanced, thin-film photovoltaic (TFPV) solar cell technologies and manufacturing processes, today announced the completion of a fully-functional CIGS (Copper Indium Gallium di Selenide) thin-film solar device.

The company is pioneering a hybrid solar cell technology that adapts manufacturing processes from the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) industry to produce CIGS solar cells deposited onto stainless steel substrate with "pseudo square" configuration which the company believes can replace traditional silicon wafer solar cells.

"With this completed sample we have reached a critical milestone in our development process, achieved through the vigilant efforts of our engineers and trusted business partner," said Tom Djokovich, CEO, XsunX, Inc. "This initial achievement illustrates a realistic set of company goals and demonstrates the strength of our relationships with the business and technical expertise that kept us on track."
Developed in partnership with an established equipment supplier to the Hard Disk Drive industry, the newly produced cell presents several compelling advantages over silicon solar wafers available on the market today.

"Approaches to mass-scale production of CIGS thin-film cells today introduce processing defects that significantly reduce cell performance," said Robert Wendt, CTO, XsunX, Inc. "Because we are leveraging stationary small-area, high-rate, production technologies and not scaling up to large area processing, we're able to strive for laboratory-metric conversion efficiencies."

In addition to being sized to match with existing HDD manufacturing processes, XsunX's new breed of TFPV manufacturing techniques will produce an appropriately proportioned cell that can be used on existing solar module production lines by manufacturers looking for a direct substitute for increasingly controversial silicon cells. Featuring a less brittle and therefore less fragile substrate, the company's CIGS device has the potential of increased yields over its silicon counterpart.

In the next stage of development, XsunX will be evaluating technical data concerning performance, conversion efficiency to continue to fine-tune each cell layer based on input collected from small-area devices, and to perfect our engineering designs.

Photovoltaik: US-Unternehmen XsunX entwickelt neues Produktionsverfahren für CIGS-Dünnschichtsolarzellen

Solarzellen-Beschichtungs-

1308 Postings, 4071 Tage totopoffTechnology Development Progress Update

Date: 2/10/10

To Our Valued Shareholders,

In an effort to provide continuous progress updates, we're pleased to share with you another step in the development of XsunX's hybrid CIGS solar cells.  As you know, we met one critical milestone in December-producing working CIGS device samples-and subsequent testing and analysis has revealed areas of focus where we can further improve our processes to create the most efficient cells.

Solar cell devices consist of several layers, each of which is vital to the performance of the resulting solar device performance.  Much of our work this month has been focused on the last two layers: intrinsic zinc oxide and indium tin oxide.  While the focus has been on refining these two layers, complete solar cell devices also are fabricated on a daily basis as part of a systematic, scientifically derived development plan, adding to our statistical database of film uniformity and deposition repeatability.

In addition to continued progress on the deposition of the solar cell layers, work has begun on the electrical current collection grid that is printed on the solar cell.  (This is very similar to the process and appearance of silicon-based solar cells, which employ a thin, conductive collection grid on the surface of the solar cell.)  Often overlooked, the grid is a crucial component to the overall performance of the solar cell.  The "printed" grid, derived of a silver epoxy material, allows current generated by the solar cell to be collected and delivered for use as electricity.  We have selected and are evaluating five silver-loaded epoxy inks.  Evaluation includes printing of the silver epoxies on films and measuring the electrical conductivity of the grid, as well as deposition onto the final layer of the solar cell and measuring vital aspects of performance.  This is necessary to finalize the selection of inks and assembly design for this crucial aspect of the CIGS solar cell.

"No one is more excited than I am about the caliber of the team we have assembled and the progress we have made, yet at the same time anxious to complete this phase of development," said XsunX's chief technology officer Robert Wendt.  "I have been involved in numerous technology development projects in my career, and while we all relish the challenge and work to deliver results as rapidly as possible, systematic application of testing, measuring, and applying results is required to improve the process.  We are building on each preceding development effort to bring to market an entirely new manufacturing approach to delivering the untapped electrical conversion potentials for CIGS thin films."

XsunX will continue the conductivity design effort in conjunction with other facets of CIGS development over the coming weeks, until optimal results are achieved.  We look forward to reporting back to you on our progress.

Letter to Shareholders

Technology Development Progress Update

Date: 2/24/2010

To Our Valued Shareholders,

As part of our continuing effort to provide regular progress updates, we're pleased this week to share progress related to engineering and design achievements necessary to complete our proprietary processing chambers.  These chambers will be used to produce the core CIGS solar power conversion portion of our solar cells. In addition, we have initiated a program focused on determining the best method for interconnection of our CIGS solar cells for eventual use in solar modules.

The development of our hybrid solution, which is a combination of high-speed material handling and systems management from the hard disk industry integrated with the processing techniques used to manufacture the CIGS solar cell, have required ongoing experiments, analyzing of results and fine-tune process adjustments. This is an incremental process where our designs benefit from both experimental success and lessons learned as we narrow the degree of variation and come closer to convergence into an integrated solution for our proprietary CIGS processing system.

We are pleased to announce that recent results from our prior efforts have allowed us to complete the engineering of a processing chamber design that converges separate operations into an integrated single chamber design, which will produce the CIGS absorber. This design is currently undergoing fabrication and once completed, our development efforts will enter an exciting new stage as we move closer towards commercialization of this new manufacturing technique. Our original plans envisioned these independent chambers, each with highly focused small area processing capabilities operating in unison and leveraging high-rate material management techniques to provide the kind of efficiencies necessary to produce millions of CIGS solar cells annually.

In addition to the development efforts outlined above, we have begun working to develop and complete other aspects critical to the CIGS solar cell manufacturing process. In our last letter, we discussed how we had begun working on the electrical current collection grid that is printed on the solar cell.  This is very similar to the process and appearance of silicon-based solar cells, which employ a thin, conductive collection grid on the surface of the solar cell. While our product has similar dimensions and appearances to silicon, it will require a different interconnection process - a step that ensures the electricity from each individual solar cell is collected and passed on for use.  As such, we've begun working to select, test and eventually finalize a suitable interconnection process that will allow multiple individual CIGS solar cells to work together to create a solar module.  This is an important part of our business plan that will not only allow us to offer a turnkey solution to silicon users looking for PV replacements but will provide a seamless experience during the replacement process.

An interesting point to note is that the silicon industry has begun to explore new techniques as well for the interconnection of silicon solar cells.  These new techniques may one day mirror those we determine suitable for XsunX's needs.

We look forward to reporting back to you on our progress.  As always, if you have any questions in the meantime, please contact our Investor Relations desk at investors@xsunx.com or (888) 797-4527.

Sincerely,
Tom Djokovich, CEO

XsunX, Inc. Renewable Energy Alert: February 22, 2010

Falling Price of Solar Panels May Have Silicon Industry Struggling to Compete While Thin-film Market is Poised for Expansion

XsunX, Inc. (OTCBB:XSNX), the developer of advanced, thin-film photovoltaic (TFPV) solar cell technologies and manufacturing processes, updates its shareholders on the shrinking margins of silicon wafer manufactures and its varying repercussions on the entire photovoltaic (PV) industry.

The solar industry overall began to experience increased demand again in the fourth quarter 2009, and most analysts predict demand will continue to increase year over year as government-based adoption policies continue to take hold on a global basis. Greentech Media Research recently predicted anticipated annual growth rates for solar of about 48% through 2012. Meanwhile a report by New Energy Finance found average costs in the U.S. market fell 30% over the ten years preceding 2008, and final numbers for the 2009 period alone may show as much as another 50% (before subsidies) reduction to PV pricing.

Over the past year, this significant fall in the price per watt for solar panels may be the direction needed to bring down solar electricity production costs, but it does not appear to come without cost and risk to the silicon PV industry. This change may allow the thin-film market to continue to benefit from this new era in pricing and demand.

"While average selling prices (ASP) for silicon-based modules have fallen, improving how silicon competes with current thin-film offerings, a significant cause for these ASP reductions appears to have come from the reduction of operating margins to razor thin proportions," said Tom Djokovich, CEO, XsunX, Inc.

For example, REC Group, one of the world's largest silicon wafer manufacturers, indicated in their most recent public filing that ASP continues to fall quarter over quarter for their silicon PV wafer business leading some industry analysts to predict that margins may fall deeply this year to only 8% from 17% in 2009 for REC's PV wafer business, raising a red flag for the silicon PV industry as it strives to continue to compete with emerging thin-film offerings.

Meanwhile, at XsunX we believe the young thin-film PV industry still has numerous opportunities for cost reductions from innovations all along the value chain, involving new materials, processes and installation technologies. A reduction to margins alone will not benefit the industry as a whole. That's is why XsunX is working to develop new thin-film manufacturing techniques, such as our cross-industry hybrid technology for manufacturing high performance solar cells made from thin-film Copper Indium Gallium (di) Selenide (CIGS). Once the technology is commercially available, we believe these new processes will provide current silicon users a less costly PV technology for solar modules.

Djokovich adds, "We anticipate that our new manufacturing processes for CIGS solar cells will be able to maintain healthy margins that would incentivize manufacturers to invest in this new manufacturing approach. An important part to our business objectives, and what gives the thin-film market the position to better compete with silicon, is the ability to offer a product in a form factor that allows its rapid adoption by an existing solar module assembly industry. With over 80% of this industry using silicon-based solar cells this provides an opportunity to further reduce costs for PV while allowing manufacturers to enjoy respectable margins."

XsunX Reaches 15.1 Percent Conversion Efficiency
Cross-Industry CIGSolar™ Product Advances at Tremendous Rate    Toward Commercial Market

Date: 11/10/2010

Aliso Viejo, CA – November 9, 2010 – XsunX, Inc. (XSNX), the developer of hybrid, thin-film photovoltaic (TFPV) solar cell technologies and manufacturing processes, today announced it has further enhanced the conversion efficiency levels of its cell devices to 15.1 percent based upon the Company’s CIGSolar™ technology. With other market-ready thin-film technologies functioning within the range of 8-11 percent for solar modules, the CIGSolar™ technology illustrates conversion efficiency that may soon lead to gains over current technology.

“The rate at which we’re experiencing percentage point gains is truly incredible considering only weeks ago we announced surpassing 14 percent conversion efficiency,” said Tom Djokovich, CEO, XsunX, Inc. “Our confidence that small area co-evaporation processes is the key to delivering the best performance CIGS thin-film cells continues to be strengthened.”

CIGS thin-film researchers have concluded the theoretical limit for CIGS solar technology tops at 29 percent conversion efficiency, although the highest percentage ever achieved was 20 percent in a laboratory setting.

“It’s important to remember that we are developing our technology on the same size substrates we intend to use in our commercial systems, about the same size as a silicon solar cell, so the efficiency levels we achieve in the laboratory we believe will be transferable to what we can offer the market,” adds Tom. “Unlike current solar developers, we don’t anticipate having to struggle with the challenges of scaling product while maintaining laboratory efficiencies.”

XsunX has achieved 15.1 percent in a relatively short period of time and with less cost compared to other CIGS efforts that spanned many years and incurred significantly higher capital demands for less than similar results. This rapid success, coupled with the technology’s perceived value as an alternate for the use of silicon solar cells, has accelerated the industry’s interest levels which have not only led to additional license discussions for XsunX but has also allowed the Company to work towards executing its plan to develop JV License agreements to deliver the technology package through existing manufacturers.

This combination of leveraging existing branded manufacturers to deliver its systems and having branded module assemblers integrate the CIGSolar™ technology into their products allows XsunX to significantly reduce the need for debt or equity financing necessary to build factories directly while also providing bankability for its technology through proven manufacturers of solar modules.

Deposition of the CIGS cell layers was conducted on full size 125 mm square substrates.  Test configurations used to measure efficiency are identical to that used by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and XsunX test equipment is calibrated to the standards of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards.

Telecomps’ growing capabilities in the module assembly business will provide us a head start and will help accelerate the adoption of our CIGSolar technology in the rapidly growing Chinese market.” Mr. Grimes continued, “We have targeted the silicon module manufacturing industry as a major customer segment and, with the assistance of Telecomps providing competitive OEM module assembly, we are positioning XsunX customers for success as they compete in the $18 billion silicon solar cell industry. In addition to Telecomps a number of other manufacturers are now seriously exploring the use of our CIGSolar technology as a robust and less expensive alternative to silicon.”

Founded in 1991, Telecomps has expanded its expertise in the electronics component industry building a network of capabilities in the fast growing turnkey OEM solar module assembly sector. Well respected within their industry, Telecomps’ growing capabilities specialize in both silicon and thin-film solar module assembly.

About XsunX

XsunX, Inc. is developing and has begun to market a new manufacturing process to produce low cost, high efficiency thin-film Copper Indium Gallium (di) Selenide (CIGS) thin film solar cells.  The patent pending system and processing technology, which XsunX calls CIGSolar™, focuses on the mass production of individual thin-film CIGS solar cells that match silicon solar cell dimensions and can be offered as a non-toxic, high-efficiency and lowest-cost alternative to the use of silicon solar cells. Nun scheint es doch so, das der Vertrag mit der Telecomps Technology Corp., Ltd. (Telecomps) der Aktie den nötigen Respekt verschafft.

Der Chart spricht für sich. 500.000 Stück on Block, wer da sich wohl eindeckt?

Schauen wir mal was heute geschieht!

Nun sind sie zu zweit und wie gesagt,
