From the Desk of the President Lisa Bershan July 22, 2013
All American Pet Company is pleased and honored to announce that its products will soon be available to the United States military, both here and abroad through The Army & Air Force Exchange Service (Exchange) which is an agency of the United States Department of Defense also known as AAFES.
AAFES serves 12.2 million active-duty, Reserve, National Guard, Family members, and retirees in 30-plus countries, five U.S. territories and 50 states. In 2011, the Exchange operated 3,100 facilities, merchandising 18 million items from which it earned more than $376 million from direct sales on revenues of $10.3 billion. It is the 41st largest retailer and soon to be the point of sale for AAPT NutraBars® and PAWtizer®. By the way, if you had not noticed, the USTPO has acknowledged our “registered” trademarks.
While I am not allowed to hypothecate revenues, it is a statistical fact that better than half of all households – military included - own at least one dog… So we are looking at a potential AAPT/AAFES marketplace of 6 million dogs.
I recognize the desire by our investors for communication and transparency, however securing the AAFES contract was the culmination of years of work and weekly commentary on such a long term project would not have afforded a material benefit to anyone until pen and paper were one.
Sometime ago we advised that we were going to be on shelf at a national convenience store chain. We had every assurance that the contract would close in days, however it did not happen then, but it is happening now. NutraBar Original and Low Fat will be found on the shelves of 672 Circle K’s beginning first in Arizona and Nevada.
The number of AMAZON distribution centers we ship keeps climbing and Walmart orders continue with clockwork regularity. There are other accounts that will imminently close, but let’s keep that news for my next letter.
In closing I would like to pass on something my father once told me. He said that you will be told that things are being said about you. Only listen to those comments that have someone’s name attached. To all others that hide behind “anon,” ignore them. They and their words are without merit.
