NVIDIA Quadro AGP 8x Graphics Solutions Selected for HP Professional Workstations
NVIDIA Quadro4 380 XGL and NVIDIA Quadro4 980 XGL AGP 8X Graphics Solutions To Be Available in HP Workstations
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA), the worldwide leader in visual processing solutions, today announced that its new NVIDIA Quadro(R)4 980 XGL and NVIDIA Quadro4 380 XGL AGP 8X graphics solutions have been selected by HP for its professional workstation line. By taking advantage of the faster AGP 8X data bus, graphics intensive applications will benefit from twice the data throughput and deliver quicker response and shorter design time to HP(R) workstation users.
"With over 20 years of expertise in high-performance computing, HP has always managed to get the most out of NVIDIA's graphics," said Jeff Fisher, executive vice president of worldwide sales at NVIDIA. "Currently, both companies are architecting complementary hardware to take full advantage of AGP 8X bandwidth. As a result, HP's workstation customers will see visible benefits in their applications-up to 40 percent performance improvements in OpenGL(R) applications."
The NVIDIA Quadro4 980 XGL and NVIDIA Quadro4 380 XGL graphics solutions are members of NVIDIA's professional workstation graphics family. Delivering industry-leading performance and innovative features, the NVIDIA Quadro4 XGL series of graphics solutions have set the standard for professional 3D graphics performance for mechanical computer-aided design (MCAD) and digital content creation (DCC) applications. Quadro4 XGL workstation graphics solutions support advanced shader operations and are designed to accelerate OpenGL and DirectX(R) professional applications by implementing workstation-specific functionality, including hardware overlay planes, hardware-accelerated antialiased points and lines, advanced memory management, and other features critical to performance in professional applications.
"HP is pleased to offer NVIDIA's new AGP 8X Quadro4 graphics solution with our personal workstations," said Jim Zafarana, vice president and worldwide marketing manager, HP Workstation Global Business Unit. "The combination of the reliability of HP's workstations and the performance of the new NVIDIA cards will provide our customers with the features required to succeed in the digital content creation and mechanical computer-aided design marketplaces."
