Vestas Mediterranean, a wholly owned subsidiary of Denmark-based Vestas Wind Systems, has received an order from Parco Eolico Ordona, which is 100% owned by Inergia, for the delivery of 13 units of its V90 2MW wind turbine to be installed in the Apulia region of Italy.
The order comprises delivery and installation of the wind turbines, a VestasOnline Business supervisory control and data acquisition system, as well as a five-year service and availability agreement.
Delivery of the turbines is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2009, and the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2009. The project will be located near the town of Ordona, in the province of Foggia.
With a total installed capacity of 26MW and an estimated annual production of 71GWh, the wind power plant will save the environment from approximately 29,000 tons of CO2 emissions, and will cover the yearly electricity consumption of almost 30,000 Italian households. |
