Hello, 100-Gigabit Data Speed: Why Acacia Leads Fiber-Optic Telecom Gear Stocks

Acacia Communications is not only one of the most impressive new IPOs to hit the U.S. equity market over the past year, but it also has the fundamentals that remind one of huge market winners during their infant days as publicly traded companies. Think Microsoft (MSFT) and Home Depot (HD) in the 1980s, EMC Corp. (EMC) and Cisco Systems (CSCO) in the 1990s, and Google owner Alphabet (GOOGL) in the second half of 2004.

After Acacia's Blowout Quarter, Does Upside Remain?

Summary

Share price is up triple since IPO with more room to run and targeting large, growing markets.

Acacia is an ideal investment for those looking to capitalize on trends in increased data usage, the cloud economy, and the internet of things.

Seasonality traditionally in the fourth quarter may provide an ideal entry point for dip buyers.

Short Acacia Communications

Summary

The IPO market is more about controlling float these days then anything else.

Shack Shake and GoPro are great examples of what happens to hyped up IPOs with low floats that got manipulated to outrageous prices. In the end they crash.

Twilio and Acacia Communications are just the next in the line of these low-float IPOs destined to crash.

http://seekingalpha.com/article/...-will-need-resistant-ire-investors

Summary

Acacia announced a secondary offering yesterday, with the primary supply of shares being from VCs and insiders.

The company also announced preliminary results for the quarter that ends on Friday. The results were nothing like the blowout achieved in the prior quarter.

It has a valuation that is several times that of its peers in the optical switching space.

The company suggests that it has developed a disruptive technology in the space based on "siliconization."

Third-party observers find that the claim appears to be substantially overdone, and that Acacia, while a viable competitor, is not likely to significantly disrupt its competitors.

Summary

Acacia Communications is down again despite reported strong Q3 results.

The company has an apparent bright future, but the downside momentum is difficult to break.

The stock has become attractively priced at the current levels, but Acacia might not have reached bottom yet.

"So, if you are looking for a decent pick in a strong industry, consider Acacia Communications. Not only is its industry currently in the top third, but it is seeing solid estimate revisions as of late, suggesting it could be a very interesting choice for investors seeking a name in this great industry segment."

http://www.fool.com/investing/2016/11/28/...p;utm_source=yahoo-2-news

"The stock is priced at 21.8 times forward earnings -- a reasonable valuation for a company that analysts project will grow EPS at an average annual rate of 37.2% over the next five years. Moreover, Acacia sports a clean balance sheet, with no debt and $175.6 million in cash at the end of the third quarter. Acacia's financials and long-term prospects look promising, especially as wireless networks roll out 5G services over the next few years, which will require significant infrastructure upgrades. Investors, however, need to closely monitor how well Acacia's top customers are doing, as its customer base is still quite concentrated."

1144 Postings, 6579 Tage TradingAsketMore Appealing After The Recent Retreat

http://seekingalpha.com/article/...ppealing-recent-retreat-buying-yet

Summary

Acacia Communications has seen a big momentum run following its IPO in 2016, even as shares have lost half of their value from their highs.

The company continues to show excellent operating momentum, doubling its sales on an annual basis.

This spectacular growth, strong balance sheet and reasonable valuation make shares very appealing, yet customer concentration remains a big risk.

To offset the concentration risks, I require further growth and a solid Q1 guidance, or a further retreat in the share price, before making an opportunistic buy.

1144 Postings, 6579 Tage TradingAsket3 Pros - 3 Cons

http://www.nasdaq.com/article/...nc-acia-stock-3-pros-3-cons-cm732381

Pro
1. Monster Growth Rate
2. Surging Margins
3. Great Balance Sheet

Con
1. Plenty of Competition
2. Concentrated Customer Base
3. Insiders Selling (More) Stock

Bottom Line on Acacia Stock
Don't let the recent slump in ACIA stock scare you away. The volatility alone isn't a good reason to dump Acacia stock. The company is posting astounding revenue growth, and is managing to show strongly uptrending profitability metrics at the same time. This is everything you want to see in a young tech firm, and the flawless balance sheet only strengthens the allure.

However, don't forget the cons. Insiders are aggressively selling stock. Do they know something we don't? It's worth watching the company's competitors in 2017 to see if they can damage Acacia's momentum.

1144 Postings, 6579 Tage TradingAsketAcacia Overly Punished On Guidance

http://seekingalpha.com/article/...-overly-punished-guidance-time-buy

Summary

ACIA has great fundamentals. It has a strong balance sheet, a good business model, remains competitive in the market, and has plenty of room for growth.

ACIA trounced analyst expectations for Q4 2016 revenues and EPS. There's been no loss of market share, yet it's down significantly.

The weak guidance and fears are due to one customer's demand, and a seasonal phenomenon in the telecom market. This is not a long-term problem.

1144 Postings, 6579 Tage TradingAsketAcacia Will Come Back Stronger

https://seekingalpha.com/article/...nications-will-come-back-stronger

Summary

Another optical network company has fallen by the wayside on a China slowdown.

Acacia's fall has been exaggerated by a secondary offering, a large dependence on China and an unusually high customer concentration.

But we see little reason not to expect substantial growth to return to this former high-growth company, so we think the shares are a buy here.

Sorry I am no native english speaker, i can't see any idea in the further analysis. If a stock is in a heavy wrong worth or discussion to income or firm-math you shouldn't buy any. The curve is falling constantly over a year without giving a sign. The "performance" is more than bad without any idea. If a minus curve that way comes in to a plus rising change, you never can expect it will be leading to high-growth. I can see no news-line which can demonstrate reasons. I guess there's no financial trust in acacia by normal citizens without "great ideas"... of "start-up 'n follow".
