AgriMarine wird nun mit dem Aufbau des ersten Fischzuchttanks im Middle Bay Projekt in Kanada beginnen. Partner des Projekts ist das Middle Bay Sustainable Aquacultute Institute (MBSAI), das sich der Erforschung der nachhaltigen Fischzucht verschrieben hat. AgriMarine Fischtzuchttechnik ist da genau richtig, denn die Zuchttanks sind geschlossen. Das heißt, es können keine Schadstoffe in die Umwelt gelangen. Das Projekt wird unter anderem von der Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation (GBMF) - Gordon Moore ist ein Mitbegründer von Intel!!! -, der Organisation Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) und der David Suzuki Foundat ion - David Suzuki ist ein Umweltaktivist, der in Kanada hohes Ansehen genießt - unterstützt.
Auch wenn der Schwerpunkt der Arbeit von AgriMarine in China liegt, hier sind einfach die größten Wachstumsraten zu erzielen, ist das Middle Bay Projekt ein enormer Werbefaktor für die Gesellschaft. AgriMarine And MBSAI Confirm Receipt Of First Tank For The Middle Bay Project September 29, 2010 AgriMarine Holdings Inc. (TSX-V:FSH) (FRANKFURT:A2G) (the “Company” or “AgriMarine”), a leader in floating closed containment technology and production for sustainable aquaculture, and the Middle Bay Sustainable Aquaculture Institute (MBSAI) are pleased to announce the delivery in B.C. of the first marine based, commercial scale, solid wall, closed containment tank for the Middle Bay Project (“Middle Bay Project”) located at Campbell River, BC.AgriMarine and MBSAI have partnered together on the Middle Bay Project and will now begin the construction and installation of the first of a marine based four-tank system with an initial commercial volume of 3,000 cubic meters. When complete, the Middle Bay Project will demonstrate a new marine based commercially adaptable technology that will offer the socio-economic benefits of fish farming without many of the negative environmental issues associated with traditional net cage fish farms. The completed tank will be stocked with Chinook salmon fingerlings.“This new marine installation will mark a new era of sustainable coastal aquaculture in BC and demonstrate that the industry can transition to closed containment without putting the environment or the economy at risk.
