Complex Document Creation and Publishing Application Boasts Unicode Authoring and Open Source Aspell
REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BroadVision, Inc. (Pink Sheets: BVSN), a global provider of e-business solutions, today announced the release of BroadVision QuickSilver 3.0, a major upgrade to the popular application that allows business users to create and publish lengthy, complex documents in multiple output formats (including XML, HTML, PDF and Postscript). BroadVision QuickSilver 3.0 takes a significant step forward with the introduction of native Unicode authoring capabilities.
With this new functionality, QuickSilver customers will be able to create documents in almost any language used in business today. Now QuickSilver customers will have total agility when meeting their publishing requirements whether it is valid XML or non-XML; print or electronic delivery; HTML or PDF; online or CD/DVD; Eastern or Western European, Simplified or Traditional Chinese, English or Japanese; or all of the above. QuickSilver 3.0 also remains compatible with over 15 years of legacy documentation thereby providing customers with both power and value.
Unicode authoring is complemented by the incorporation of Aspell, the popular open source spell-checking system. With this inclusion, QuickSilver customers will be able to add to or update the long list of language and dialect dictionaries delivered in the product, create special use dictionaries and even compile word-lists into Aspell format. This enables companies to respond efficiently to specific customer requirements and to the evolution of the languages in which they deliver content.
Hundreds of industry leaders including Bombardier, EADS, Alstom, Fidelity, Briggs & Stratton, Festo, Siempelkamp and the United States Navy use BroadVision QuickSilver to automate and streamline the process of creating and publishing complex documents. The new release gives customers the ability to expand their documentation to a global audience and meet all of their delivery requirements from a single application.
“This milestone release offers a big step forward for our QuickSilver customers,” said Dr. Pehong Chen, President and CEO, BroadVision. “The total agility this application boasts is in line with the rest of BroadVision’s solutions. We are proud to help so many large global customers meet their complex document needs.”
