Mon May 7, 2007 New Cantech Makes Changes To Board Of Directors & Management
-------------------------------------------------- The Board of Directors of New Cantech Ventures Inc. reports that, the full Board of Directors met on Friday May 4, 2007 in Vancouver, British Columbia, and they have unanimously agreed to changes within management and the board of directors after initiating an internal review of corporate practices and procedures necessitated by the recent growth in company operations.
Mr. Jim Jacuta. B.A., LLB, has agreed to take on duties and serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors. He has been an independent non management Director of New Cantech since November 1994 and has been a member of the Law Society of Alberta since 1983.
Richard Grayston, B. Comm, M.B.A., Ph.D. has agreed to take on duties and serve as Chief Financial Officer. Dr. Grayston has been an independent non-management Director of New Cantech since January 1991, is a former member of the faculty of Commerce of the University Of British Columbia where he taught Commerce and is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, based in Toronto.
Ross Blusson remains a director and Secretary of the Company, but has relinquished his roles as the Chief Financial Officer and as the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
William Meyer, B.Sc, P.Eng., remains an independent member of the Board of Directors and remains a member of the Audit Committee.
In connection with these recent changes, New Cantech has also approved a board resolution that authorizes board members to act as a search committee for the anticipated selection of new officers, directors, consultants and employees as necessary. New Cantech recognizes the current need for changes to the board, management, and other changes to advance overall operations, and with emphasis to attract a corporate officer to oversee the advancement of the development of New Cantech's "Lucky Ship" Molybdenum Project, located south of Houston, British Columbia and also to advance New Cantech's other mineral exploration projects, most of which are located in British Columbia and all of which are located in Canada.
